This album was signed at a show I DJed at Slim's in San Francisco circa 1989-1990 by The Skatalites' keymen; stand-up bass master Lloyd Brevett, drummer extraordinaire Lloyd Knibbs and the band's 'Mr. Conductor', saxman Tommy McCook . I love the way Lloyd Knibbs mixes cases & underlines the word drum in his signature 'Lloyd Knibbs the DRummer'. The vinyl is fairly hard to find too. It's a Treasure Isle collection of tunes by The Skatalites, mostly instrumental, with a couple vocals over their rhythms from Justin Hinds along with Stranger Cole who also duets once with Patsy. The music is top flight, of course, with a couple selections I don't think have ever appeared anywhere else in any form. It's crucial Don Drummond, Roland Alphonso, Lloyd, Tommy, Lloyd and crew at their finest. The Jamaican style cover is rough & tough, adding to the charm. If this gem doesn't go at this price I will hold onto it. It will not be listed again.

The classic cover is also in VG+ shape with no split seams, no bent corners despite some very minor frayed corner edges. See photos. Made in Jamaica.
