October 23, 2013 :  I have been inundated with emails regarding this record. What is your BIN price? Is it real? Where are the push marks? Etc, etc.  Here is the story: This record is part of a collection I have been working with for the last couple weeks. There are around 500 45’s involved. They are all 50s and a few early 60s vintage. Most belonged to a teenager in South Carolina and they were cared for like most teenagers would do. No Picture Sleeves, half had original factory sleeves, the other half were boxed, randomly stacked and unprotected. Some were broken, scratched and trashed while others were never played.  The vast majority were played and enjoyed. All of them were covered with 50 years of dust, moisture and crud. Apparently they were stored in a basement or attic. I have been trying to sort out and clean them adequately (without a RCM machine). I started listing a few with sound samples but I realize the samples are inconsistent with what the sound could be, if properly cleaned.  So, they certainly are all originals, no one counterfeited these in the 50s. As far as reissues, I haven’t found any so far. As far as making an offer on auction items or wanting to know the reserve;  I assure you the reserve is based on average selling prices during the last few years (see popsike). Asking me what I’ll take to sell it now is not making an offer.  If you really want to acquire this rare disc, “Make me an offer I can’t refuse”. Otherwise, let’s all have fun with the auction. Cover Visual Grade Assessment: n/a

NEAR MINT or NM / M- : record appears virtually flawless. A very minor scuff and very little else can appear on the vinyl. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw is very hard to see. COVER: The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age.

EXCELLENT or EX or VG++ : record shows minor scuffs which are only slightly visible. There may be more than a few scuffs and NO Scratches. COVER: Artwork is still as close to perfect as can be.

VERY GOOD PLUS or VG+ : record shows wear, surface scuffs. The vinyl still has a great luster, but the flaws will be noticeable to the naked eye.  COVERS: A virtually clean cover, but may have small writing on it.The artwork looks clean with slightly more aging / yellowing.

VERY GOOD or VG :  record is a record that is good enough. They are not really going to look very good,. There will almost always be some surface noise when they are played. The sonic dynamics should still be excellent, overpowering the surface noise. A VG record will appear well played but still have some luster. COVER: covers will look worn, used. There may be some seam splitting . There will be some ring wear, where the ink has begun to wear off. Giving the cover a look of snow falling.

GOOD or G : record will look very well played, dull, grayish and possibly abused. However a Good record should still play. It will have distracting surface noise. Such as crackle that is continuous or some hiss. Will also have some loss of dynamics caused from grooves being worn. COVER: cover will have just about everything wrong with it. It will have seam splits (possibly taped repaired, but only with scotch tape).

Additional Information: Re-examination reveals 3 push marks per side. I have a couple photos if you'd like to see them. I can attach photos when I answer your questions. Shooting without flash makes these marks visible. The labels are really not worn all that much, so unlike photos of other Sun records, these marks are barely visible.
