FIRST UK PRESSING:-    On the 2 tone blue white Liberty record labels.

       Catalogue number:- LBF 15382

       Date of Release:- 1970.

Title:-  Hurry On Sundown b/w Mirror Of Illusion.

       Performer(s):  Hawkwind.

        Further information:-

THIS IS AN ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING .. NOT A LATER REPRODUCTION.

The first ever release by Hawkwind from 1970. It was 2 years before the group released another single.

This is a rarity in itself but this version is even rarer and possibly unique.
All versions of "Hurry on Sundown" come in 2 formats. Either a Promo or the regular release. The ratio was about 3 Promos to 5 regular releases so in fact the promos are not as uncommon as people will lead you to believe.

What makes this so rare is the the label has been misprinted and the text shifted to the left and slightly tilted down.

HAWKWIND should be centered at the bottom of the label. It is not. The title HURRY ON SUNDOWN is shifted  and partially printed over the deep blue of the Liberty label.  These errors should have been noticed at the quality control stage and clearly withdrawn from release  and presumably destroyed as being not fit for purpose. This one and possibly ONLY THIS ONE ended up being released!!

Also the wrong matrix mark was printed on side one LBF 153852 A-1. This has been scratched over with 2 lines and above this the correct matrix number 15382 has been  printed. The mother stampers on side one are 1 at 9 o'clock and A at three o'clock.
Side two matrix marks are LBF 15382 B-1 and stampers are 1 at 9 o'clock and G at three o'clock.

The disc comes in its original wavy line Liberty sleeve with the large 11 in the address at the bottom of the sleeve and fold over stick downs on the rear. There is a slight tear at extreme top left rear. See photos.

    The record plays as follows:-

Side one.  A little crackle at the start but this soon disappears and DOES NOT happen over the vocal. A little crackle on the run-out.

Side two.  Plays as EX+for the most part until the end where there is some noise over the last 3/4 revolutions.

The disc has surface marks/hairlines but plays as described.

So there you have it -- The Holy Grail of Hawkwind releases A-1 B-1 Matrix marks 1A 1G stampers and possibly the only one in existence with this misprinted label on side 1

This may be your only chance to own this rarity.

The Disc is FULLY PLAY TESTED. NOT JUST GUESSED AT!

          Rare & collectable.

        Don't miss out!.
