Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! 1st UK pressing of Hawkwind's "Hall Of The Mountain Grill" album on the United Artist labels. This album was purchased from new and originally only ever played a few times to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records!! Features the earliest possible A-2U and B-2U Matrix endings (Only 1st UK press)! Rarely seen with thick heavy type of vinyl and no mother stampers! (In fact I have never come across this before on this pressing) 'Made In England' Rim text This album is complete with the original 1st issue UA Printed un- laminated cover!! The audio is truly stunning through out! The audio is graded at Excellent Plus to Very Near Mint for the most part in my opinion! (With light isolated interference/ static ticks heard in quieter places only) No loud constant clicks or pops! So rich and vibrant throughout! Fantastic separation. Looks and sounds like it has just had minimal play only in my opinion! This is complete with the original picture inner record sleeve in superb condition rarely seen complete like this!
Astounding for 42 years old like this! Final Upgrade Copy! Read the full full description below!

Hall of the Mountain Grill is the fourth studio album by space rock band Hawkwind, released in 1974! It is regarded by many critics and fans as a career highlight!
The group's fourth studio album, it was the first by a new line-up that included Simon House on synthesizer, Mellotron and electric violin; absent were Robert Calvert, who had previously contributed lyrics, vocals and spoken word interludes, and Dik Mik, who provided electronic effects.
House's addition was generally seen as enhancing the band's musicianship and sense of structure, though perhaps at the expense of the improvisational nature of earlier work!
The album's title was a nod to Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and to a Portobello Road cafe called The Mountain Grill (now closed), frequented by the band in the early 1970s.
The cover of a derelict spaceship in the mists of an alien lagoon was painted by the band's regular artistic collaborator, Barney Bubbles. The rear cover was by noted space artist David Hardy!
The record featured hard rockers like "The Psychedelic Warlords (Disappear in Smoke)" and "Lost Johnny" (subsequently recorded by bassist Lemmy's post-Hawkwind band Motörhead and also by co-writer Mick Farren with his band the The Deviants), psychedelia such as the heavily-phased "D-Rider" and "Web Weaver", as well as quieter atmospheric numbers like the instrumentals "Goat Willow", "Wind of Change" and the title track. Side Two of the original vinyl LP was bookended by "You'd Better Believe It" and "Paradox", live tracks recorded at the Edmonton Sundown in January 1974, that recalled the 'space jams' of earlier releases!
In the wake of Robert Calvert's departure, lead vocals for the album were performed by Dave Brock, along with Lemmy on "Lost Johnny" and Nik Turner on "D-Rider". Despite Hawkwind's relative success in the charts at this time, the band's line-up would continue to shift during the year. Del Dettmar left prior to the release of Hall of the Mountain Grill to live in Canada, Alan Powell joined as an additional drummer, and science fiction author and friend of the group, Michael Moorcock, stepped in to read poetry at their concerts!
Hall of the Mountain Grill reached #16 on the UK album charts and #110 in the US. Its release was preceded by an edited single of "The Psychedelic Warlords" b/w "It's So Easy" in August.
"Paradox" b/w "You'd Better Believe It" was issued as a single in Europe, both sides also being edits. All four of these tracks appeared on EMI’s 2001 CD re-issue of the album. An EP featuring "The Psychedelic Warlords", "Hall of the Mountain Grill", "D-Rider" and "Wind of Change" was released as a promo in the US in 1974!

The Mother Stampers
Very Rare (NO) Mother Stampers on both sides!
The vinyl
The 1st thing to note! is that this is a mega thick and heavy original type of vinyl! Later press are much more flimsier and less robust! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! and looks absolutely stunning! On initial inspection this looks stunning in my opinion! It is hard for me to see any marks at all! In fact this has hardly ever been played at all! Perhapes a handfull of times by me personaly only! This has been stored in a case for the best part of 35 years! Any marks that could possibly be seen under a strong light would be sleeve removal marks only! Importantly no marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops!
The Audio Quality
THE AUDIO IS TRULLY AWESOME 1st UK PRESS COPY! TOP! TOP! AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES! (no) loud clicks pops or any grooveware what so ever! (please allow for isolated very light static/ticks possibly heard in a couple or so of quiet places only) NEVER NEED TO UPGRADE FROM THIS VINYL! Listen to the complete album in bthe player above. Actual recording from the vinyl! Audio graded at least excellent plus to very near mint for the most part!
please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the light isolated static crackle/ticks (common on this album) but nothing consistant throughout the audio! This is a genuine 42 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 42 year old system!
This vinyl has been stored in a case for the best part of 42 years or more and could benefit from a constant clean before each play! This would greatly reduce any static/ crackle/ticks and greatly enhance the audio quality! It is noted that I noticed debrit on the playing surface after play.,
The Labels
These are the original 1st issue United Artist labels I can't see any ware. Any spidering seen angled to the light is minimal! !
The record Sleeve
This is the original picture inner record sleeve. No splits or tears light creasing only!
The Cover
This is the original 1st issue unlaminated cover in outstanding condition for 38 years old. These covers are very very hard to keep in good condition, these 1st issue covers are very prone to rubbing ware and creasing! There are no splits or tares. Amaizingly, there is no real nasty rubbing or creases to mention! Only if looked for can any rubbing on the front/scuffing at the edges and spine just be seen only. Creases , again only noticed if looked for in my opinion on the front and rear. The spine is nice and square and all text can be read. This is in general nice and exceptionally clean! I would grade this cover at excellent Exceptional condition for 39 years old!
An archive copy never need to upgrade!
