This really is an extremely rare, hugely sought after very 1st UK Stereo copy of Hawkwind's seminal 1970 album...this is progressive rock at it's best and at it's most anarchic!
The E.J. Day outer gatefold sleeve is in very good++ condition with wonderfully vibrant artwork still completely intact and no unwanted writing, tears, creasing, or nasty blemish. The ONLY reason that I can't grade the outer sleeve as excellent is because there is some scuffing on the spine (see photo) and some additional minor scuffing on the bottom and top edges. Nothing to detract from the overall impact of the original famed artwork so unique to this era (and Hawkwind in particular), however.
Remarkably both sides of the thick, heavy vinyl have retained most of their original sheen though there are some hairlines and very light, small surface scuffing, most of which is only visible when held against a bright light : the overall appearance is excellent. None of these minor blemishes negatively impact upon the overall brilliant audio quality.
The quality of the audio is excellent. There is the hint of some very light background crackle at the beginning of both sides but that's all. Again, nothing to negatively impact upon the overall terrific sounding audio quality. Play this record loud and get blown away! Better still, buy the CD and play it loud and get blown away and store the record away in a vault and watch it's market value go through the roof!!

Each label is excellent - again, no unwanted writing of significant blemish apart from a few surface spindle trails just in evidence immediately adjacent to the spindle hole.
The original polythene lined inner sleeve is excellent and fully functional with just some minor creasing towards the corners and some very mild age discolouration around the edges. "British Patent No. 800513 * 973939" are clearly in evidence at the bottom left hand corner.
I have no hesitation in grading the condition of this package as excellent - the occasional scuffing on the spine of the outer sleeve, minor scuffing along the edges and vinyl surface hairlines coupled with a couple of small surface scuffs means that it's it's not perfect, mint, or near mint, however, but at the same time I know that you would have to search high and low to find a better copy. This is an album for the connoisseur, the truly serious vinyl collector. Add to that the overall stunning quality of the audio and it all adds up to something special!

Very Good Description: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good Description: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
