Description
"Victory Parade Of Spotlight Bands" radio show transcription disc. Approximately 27 minutes on this 16 inch, black lacquer acetate coated aluminum, 33 1/3 rpm disc. This disc was recorded for reference purposes only and not available to the general public, very rare!
This disc contains 27:36 minutes of a 30 minute radio broadcast featuring Harry James & His Orchestra performing from Ashbury Park in New Jersey. The opening announcement is missing, and it sounds like the first part of the first song is missing. The first 3:27 of the first song is recorded. There is a few seconds of the middle of the program missing (no music missing) due to the disc switch
Songs include "Keb-Lah" (incomplete as stated above, it is later stated in the show that this song was introduced on this program), "They Say It's Wonderful" vocal Buddy Devito, "Got The Sun In The Morning" vocal Marion Morgan, "Friar Rock", "Zanzibar", "Coax Me A Little Bit" vocal Marion Morgan, "Back Home In Indiana"

There is no date on the disc, there is a piece of paper in the sleeve with Spring 1946 as a possible date
There is also an approximately 5 minute excerpt from a radio program titled "The Bible Institute On The Air"
The sleeve says glass disc, however this is an aluminum based disc, not glass
Disc is in Excellent- condition with Excellent or better sound
Please note that most standard turntables will not play 16 inch radio transcriptions due to their size. For $10 I can make a CD copy of the disc for the buyer only
