Description
From my personal collection, here is a scarce vintage jazz LP featuring HANK MOBLEY on the BLUE NOTE label, from 1961. Title is “WORKOUT.” Catalog number is BLP 84080. Stereo pressing.
Vinyl is medium thick, does not have deep groove. Matrix number is hand-etched, “VAN GELDER” is machine stamped in trailoff, with "ear" symbol on both sides. Jacket has "For Complete Catalog Write to BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23" on reverse at bottom.
Personnel consist of the following: HANK MOBLEY – tenor sax; GRANT GREEN – guitar; WYNTON KELLY – piano; PAUL CHAMBERS – bass; PHILLY JOE JONES – drums.

Jacket: Jacket would grade VG++ except for a couple flaws on the reverse. Front art work is nice and bright, with flawless spine and seams. Reverse is beginning to show minor signs of shelf wear and there is a torn place on the right side near the center of the third column of liner notes where it appears a sticker was removed. There is also a small square of residue from where a price sticker was affixed at a previous time. Small wear spots at the corner tips, and a bump at bottom left corner. No writing or other problems.
Vinyl: Condition is nice VG++. Has full brilliant original gloss. There are a few very slight scuffs that are not audible, otherwise clean. Fidelity is awesome. Nice clean labels. I believe the winning bidder will be very pleased.
