PLEASE READ AD CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING. THANK YOU.
WARNING:
PLEASE DO NOT BUY IF YOUR FEEDBACK SCORE IS 0 OR 1. I AM SORRY, BUT YOU MAY BLAME THE SCAMMERS.
Up for bids is an original Mono Jazz LP by Hank Mobley called "Hank Mobley Quintet" on Blue Note Records. BLP 1550. Released in 1957.
THERE IS NO COVER WITH THIS AUCTION. I DO NOT HAVE IT. THIS WAS THE WAY IT WAS FOUND.
This is the original 1957 pressing with the address "47 WEST 63rd . NEW YORK 23" on Side 2's label and "47 WEST 63rd . NYC" on Side 1" label. The font is also slightly different on each label. Please see photos to compare.
Deep Groove pressing!
NO "R" (Registered Trademark) symbols on labels!
Edges of record are raised.
Matrix (or trail-off) numbers have the hand-etched "RVG" then "BN-LP-1550-A" followed by the "ear" symbol and lastly "9 M" for Side 1, and all the aforementioned with the exception of "BN-LP-1550-B." for Side 2.
I included some lighter exposed photos to show a little of the writing in the Matrix.
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Due to the condition of each side being drastically different from the other, I will give the following descriptions by Side.
SIDE 1:
I would grade this side's condition as VG to VG+. There are a couple of marks, deep scratches and scuffs that do not greatly affect play. Not much wear though and the deep scratches don't last long. Sounds really nice on my player!
SIDE 2:
I would grade this side's condition as Fair to VG. Couple of deep scratch patches that do make noise and a big scuff all across the side. Now there are still some quiet areas, but there are also parts where the deep scratches will affect the listening. Amazingly, the scratches do not skip my needle and the fidelity is still nicely intact! I can not promise they won't skip your needle though. Also, not much wear like Side 1, and the giant scuff is only really audibly noticeable on "Base On Balls" which is a quieter track. It goes fairly quick on each rotation.
Please understand that this record is far from mint, however it is STILL RARE IN ANY CONDITION!!!
Record will be shipped in a nice white 12" record cover with hole and plain white inner sleeve.
May make a good gift for any Hank Mobley or Be-Bop record fan.
See my other auctions for more funky original records, cassettes, reel to reels, CD’s, and 8 tracks!
MY APOLOGIES IF THE SCANS ARE BAD, BUT MY DESCRIPTIONS ARE USUALLY DEAD ACCURATE FOR BACKUP.
