Description

TITLE/ARTIST: This ultra rare, very first LP release - with the alternately released jacket - is by the legendary 1950's-'60's R'n'R/R'n'B  singer and songwriter, Hank Ballard, from back in 1957. Earlier today I listed this same LP with what I believe was the first jacket/cover released, although I I am not sure of that fact. This is what I call the "alternate cover" - it has a different picture and appears more colorful to me - but otherwise it's absolutely amazing how similar these two listed LPs are in their conditions - please read on and see for yourself. This LP is also on the original, black with silver lettering, King Label (541), and is in very good overall condition (please see the pics above and read on). The classic LP is also entitled "Their Greatest Hits" on the record's label, but does say "Their Greatest Jukebox Hits" on the jacket - just as my previous listing did. And again, both the jacket and the vinyl's label have the same King Record's ID number (541). As I mentioned in the earlier, this album came with two different jackets, and I have now listed both of them. This is the 2nd (I think, anyway), more colorful cover - the other listing had the "jukebox" cover - so feel free to check it out as well. Hank Ballard wrote and sang many R'n'R/R'n'B songs from this period in time and 12 of them appear on this album (see above pics for all the titles). As already mentioned, this LP appears to me to be in real nice overall condition, especially the vinyl - but please read on. LABEL INFO: This original, black with silver print, King Label (541) is clean and nice - although there are spindle lines around this center circle, indicating it was actually played a bit. VINYL INFO: The vinyl is very shiny, clean and nice with no serious issues need of a mention, although there are 2-3 very small "spots" (for lack of a better definition) on the vinyl, but they have absolutely no effect on the album's play - it sounds great and they really are quite small and uneventful in appearance as well. And, otherwise it appears to be almost as nice as the day it was first purchased. JACKET INFO: Finally, the jacket's front and back sides are very clean and free of any serious mentionable flaws, however the seams have a couple of issues. Just like the previously listed version of this LP, there are 8" seam splits on both the top and bottom seams, and the vertical seam has several small scuff marks on it - this is amazingly similar to the other LP I listed earlier. With this jacket, the song titles on the back side have small check marks next to them in ink - albeit, they could be easily removable with a little effort and a good eraser. But otherwise, the entire front and back sides are as good as can be expected - and there are no additional issues at all on either of these two sides. INTERESTING FACTS: Yes, I agree neither of these two listed Hank Ballard albums are perfect, but in my opinion, the LPs are mostly clean and nice, especially the two vinyl's -  not to mention how very rare and difficult to find this record is anymore, so please have at it. As always, I have begun the auction at a low opening bid and have not listed it with any reserve price - just free and open bidding - so good luck!. In addition, I will continue to list many other RnR/R&B LP's, EP's, and 45's by 1950-60's artists----and even some C&W LPs/45's, too. I am selling off my entire personal collection, and there are 1000's of more records to list yet -- of all varieties and genres. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!  If anyone ever needs more info than what is listed, please email me. I will respond! POSTAGE/HANDLING CHARGES: In the United States, the buyer agrees to pay $5.00 (Media Mail and Delivery Confirmation) for the first LP purchased, and then just $1.00 per LP after that-----so, buy in quantity and save. These are U.S. rates only, and all foreign winners will have to await an email me for their exact costs, although I will send a detailed invoice as soon as the auction is over---but, there too, it is cheaper to send multiple pieces. The charges for overseas are $23.00 for the 1st LP and then just $4.00 per LP after that. PLEASE NOTE: I will not be responsible for records  that are lost or damaged by either US or overseas Postal Services. However, for additional fees, I will gladly ship the packages Priority Mail and/or add insurance! Please email me with either, or both, requests if this is of interest to you. Also, please continue to check out "rogersrecords" on ebay for future collectible records of all types. There are many more to come! browser does not support JavaScript.
