Guy Warren - Emergent Drums - Columbia Lansdowne Series
Excellent drum based record from 1964. It was recorded in a day, live in the studio I imagine - it has a great, dynamic live sound. I've listened to it twice today!The bad news is it's in roughly Good condition due to a few marks and quite a serious warp/dish. That being said I played it all the way though on both turntables I currently have set up, a Garrard 401/SME 3009/Denon 103R and a belt driven homemade monster with a 12" unipivot arm. In both cases the warp caused no difficulties at all - I was unaware of it. I guess because it's mono it sounds great despite the marks.
So, although it doesn't look all that nice it plays really well and more importantly it's great music. It doesn't skip or stick, neither does it distort. The last picture is to try and give an idea of the warp.
The laminated sleeve is VG- due to age.
Like many of the records I'm selling today this came from the large collection of a busy man now aged 61. Due to the size of his collection many of the LPs were only played once or twice from new - some were never played and they were all properly looked after. His musical taste was towards the avant garde/free end of the jazz spectrum as well as being a fan of prog, psych and experimental music. I will be selling selected records from his collection over the next few years so please add me to your favourites list!
