A Stunning Near Mint original, UK/European 1st pressing album released for sale in the UK in November 1988, this 1st pressing comes in its original uncensored front cover and `X` rated inner sleeve, this was soon censored and changed a number of times due to legalities and complaints, subsequent covers and inner`s followed, another indicator of this 1st pressing is the inclusion of 2 warning labels, the first is a black oval sticker with white and green text, the second is a larger round white sticker with black text (see photo`s), so this original is part of our music arts history!! all this is in superb original condition.

Cover/Jacket condition- Nr Mint overall condition, this sleeve is in stunning condition, with no flaws to mention, no creases, no writing, no folding, no edge wear, no spine wear, no discolouring, no ring wear, the one and only mark is the large white sticker has a stain to the top and the oval sticker has some minor wear (see photo`s) the rear of the cover just the slightest hint of ring wear under certain angles to the top left, openings have no flaws.
Inner Sleeve - the banned newspaper ¬page 3` style polylined inner sleeve is free from tears, rips and pen, bright white paper just shows creasing to all four corners (see photo`s).
Vinyl/Label condition- Near Mint, the vinyl has been well looked after, with a high shine to the vinyl, it has been played and shows a couple of very light scratches in normal light, these do NOT go into the grooves and do not affect audio, held upto bright light it does show a number of paper scratches, in normal light the vinyl looks Nr MINT, the labels are pristine with no marks or flaws, not even any spindle marks,
Play test / Audio condition- (play tested on B&O deck with MMC4 cartridge) The vinyl plays superbly, in fact this is one record that vinyl demonstrates its strengths, the quietest passages on patience sound real and each instrument can be clearly heard and distinguished, audio is full channel separation is great, there are no clicks, pops or interference, a great playing album which has survived over 30 years and still sounds like new.
GN'R Lies
The last four songs were recorded with acoustic guitars. They were written and recorded in only a few studio sessions (with the exception of "You're Crazy," which appeared in an alternate version on Appetite for Destruction), which producer Mike Clink called "one of those magical rock and roll history moments."
In later interviews, Axl Rose stated that while he loved how the band sounded on the last four songs, he hated the sound of his voice. Rose recalled that his voice was husky and scratchy from the band's lengthy touring at the time, and if he could he would have re-recorded his vocal tracks in a separate session.
A significantly faster version of "You're Crazy" with electric guitars had previously been released on the band's debut album, Appetite for Destruction, and was now recorded as originally intended.[5] "Used to Love Her" was written as a joke after Izzy Stradlin disliked a song he heard on the radio featuring "some guy whining about a broad who was treating him bad". Slash stated that "People think it's about one of our old girlfriends, but it's actually about Axl's dog.
Controversy
In addition to the album cover, two songs from the album caused significant controversy.
The song "One in a Million" raised accusations of racism and homophobia.[10][11][12][13][14] Rose denied that he was a racist and defended his use of the word "nigger", claiming that "it's a word to describe somebody that is basically a pain in your life, a problem. The word nigger doesn't necessarily mean black." He cited the rap group N.W.A. and the John Lennon song "Woman Is the Nigger of the World" as other examples of musicians using the word.[15] Several years later, Rose conceded that he had used the word as an insult towards black people who had tried to rob him, and because the word is a taboo.[16]In response to the allegations of homophobia, Rose stated that he considered himself "pro-heterosexual" and blamed this attitude on "bad experiences" with gay men.[15][17]
The song "Used to Love Her" was perceived as misogynistic by critics.
