Wayne Monbleau - To My Shepherd (US-Green Mountain, 1977)
That’s what Ken Scott - The Archivist says about that album: “Wayne Monbleau is that rare example of a folksinger who can do magical things within a purely acoustic setting. He's similar to Bruce Cockburn in that respect, but there is also an uncanny resemblance to Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, not only in the vocals but also the excellent guitar work and overall progressive acoustic style. In particular '2,000 Years Ago', 'John The Baptist' and 'The Way, The Truth, And The Life' all sound like they were cut from the same cloth as some of the more unplugged Tull endeavors (such as Minstrel In The Gallery). All ten songs are strong, making To My Shepherd one of the most cohesive and remarkable folk recordings in Christian music.”
This is the1st pressing on a tiny Vermont custom label. Later pressings exist in a different cover on the Loving Grace label.
