Grateful Dead Live in Concert GD-2222 & GD-2266 MM4 Not TMQ
Record grade: VG (both records)
Sleeve grade: VG
This auction is for both GD-2266 (“Live In Concert”) and GD-2222 (“Turn On Your Love Light”). GD-2222 doesn’t have its own sleeve, but it fits nicely in the other pocket of the GD-2266 gatefold cover. These records have light marks and light hairlines visible under bright light and play with light surface noise and the occasional light pop. The vinyl has some dimpling in places as these were not pressed professionally. When the needle plays over one of these dimples you can hear sort of a dull pop sound for a few rotations. The records also don’t lay perfectly flat but this has no audible impact on play. I should also note that there doesn’t seem to be a groove in the deadwax on Side B of GD-2266 for your needle to rest in upon completion of the side. If you don’t raise the tonearm soon after the side completes, the needle will drift across the grooves and back onto the record.
The cover slick is split upon the length of the spine are there are some areas of light fraying. There is an actual split through the cardboard about 1.5” at the top of the spine. The cover also has ring wear, shelf wear, general wear, light scuffing, etc. Please examine pictures carefully.
These LPs are a really fun listen and they’re cool historical artifacts but don’t expect high quality audio.

I grade LPs based on a conservative interpretation of the Goldmine standard. This means that a VG+ record is in very nice shape and should have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. A record with sustained surface noise will be at best a VG. All records are play-graded since not all surface noise can be detected visually. All records are shipped in new Whiplash mailers with cardboard backing with the sleeved record outside of the jacket to prevent seam splits.

NM: Surfaces essentially look new. This is the highest rating I give used records.
VG+: Very nice shape. May have a few stray very light hairlines and/or light paper scuffs visible under bright light. Will have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. No feelable marks.
VG: Has hairlines and/or paper scuffs and has audible surface noise particularly between songs and during quieter passages.
G+: Has more pronounced hairlines and paper scuffs and may have a few small feelable marks, but still no skips.
