DESCRIPTION
Before he moved on to fame as the man who turned The Byrds into a Country band, founded (with Chris Hillman) The Flying Burrito Brothers, unleashed Emmylou Harris upon the Country Music world with his 2 fine and highly collectible solo albums, was friends with Keith Richards, joined the “27” Club, became the Godfather of Country-Rock and Americana Music, and about whom it’s been said, “Chris and Gram invented it and The Eagles took it to the bank”, Gram Parsons recorded an album of original songs and Country classics with a little band he put together called The International Submarine Band. Their recorded output was small, only 1 album and a coupla singles on tiny LHI Records. The records are, as you would expect, rare, hard to find, highly collectible, much sought after, and expensive. This listing is for an even more rarified stereo DJ copy of the only ISB album, Safe at Home.
Please note that this an Unofficial Release with a fantastic sound stage.
The record is in stunning NM-/NM condition, the record is very shiny and clean, practically immaculate, a dream vinyl copy. The sleeve is NM- should be NM besides there's a tiny punch hole left top, see scans,
absolutely superb copy
Safe at Home marked the debut of some great Gram Parsons classics like, “Luxury Liner”, “Blue Eyes”, and “Do You Know How it Feels to be Lonesome”, which reappeared on the 1st Burritos album, Gilded Palace of Sin. The Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard covers ain’t too shabby, neither! All in all, a great album, and one of the best debuts ever!
