Description
Here we have “There’s A Bond Between Us”, an LP by The Graham Bond Organization on the UK Columbia label, first released in 1965.
My good friend Mr “Diz” Kogz informs me that this is a very early pressing of this vanishingly rare record.
It comes in the correct first edition Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd sleeve. The number shown on the top right of the back sleeve is 33 SX 1750. In the "small print" bottom right, are the numbers "6512" showing it was printed for the first release in very late 1965.
It also has the advert on the back for Emitex Record Cleaner.
However, the disc inside has the number SX1750!!!
If it was the VERY, VERY FIRST EVER pressing, it would have a "33" prefix!).
This disc, according to the internet (which is NEVER WRONG) probably dates from very very early '66.
So.... what we appear to have here is the SECOND PRESSING of the disc (using original stampers) which EMI probably put inside original "FIRST EDITION" sleeves, because they had several left over and were using up old stock.
It is MOST DEFINITELY NOT the 69/70 re-issue.

The Graham Bond Organization on these recordings, consisted of Graham Bond (a “differently sane” organist and very fine fellow) Jack Bruce (the best bass player in the world, according to millions of bass players and Eric Clapton) Dick Heckstall Smith (the best sax player in the world, according to me) and Peter Edward “Ginger” Baker (the best drummer in the world according to Ginger Baker).
Condition-wise: This is not a perfect MINT record. It is VERY clean and tidy, and plays extremely well, without click or clonk.
Side one is as clean as Greta Thunberg’s conscience, and shines like a healthy Golden Labrador’s nose. Side two is equally as clean, plays just as well, but has a couple of VERY LIGHT non-sounding “sleeve marks” where the record has been pulled out of the poly-lined sleeve a little too enthusiastically at some time in the last half-century-and-a-bit.
I have played the record through on top quality gear and it sounded excellent to me, from start to finish.
To be on the safe side, let’s grade it (using the “Record Collector Magazine” yardstick) as a very, very strong VG+++ or better.
A thieving ratbag in a dimly lit record fair would probably grade it as EX+ and would charge you twice what I’m expecting, whilst attempting to snog your wife and/or daughter.
The Sleeve is not so delightful, and shows its age, I’m afraid. It is complete and un-written-on but there is some evident shelf wear, a slightly scruffy opening-edge, and signs of handling. Using that same “Record Collector Magazine” yardstick, I’d call it a good useful collectable VG/VG+ or thereabouts (please see photographs).
It is as rare as a straight answer from a Cabinet Minister, and you want it, yes you do.. don’t argue.. it’s been a rotten year and it’s time to treat yourself.
