Description
This auction is a benefit to help John Stabb of Government Issue and the Factory Incident pay his medical bills. John was attacked by some thugs on July 17 and they did some serious damage to his face. The surgery to fix John up was ridiculously expensive, and his insurance company are a bunch of jerks, so John's stuck with the bill. If you don't want the repo men to take John's new face away, either donate some money or bid on one of my auctions, or donate something for me to sell. 100% of the proceeds from this sale are going to John. I'm covering the ebay and paypal fees out of my own pocket.
Up for auction here are two brand new, unused, and DEAD MINT sleeves and inserts for GI's Legless Bull EP (Dischord #4). The first sleeve is a completed, folded and glued FIRST VERSION sleeve and folded insert with Dischord's address given as 1327-J Rockville Pike (actually Yesterday and Today Records' address). The second sleeve is an uncut SECOND VERSION sleeve with Discord's address given as 3819 Beecher Street, plus an UNFOLDED insert. Sometime in 1981 Dischord changed addresses and had new sleeves printed for GI's record--I think the Beecher St. addy is the rarer version, but I have no hard data to back that up. There's no vinyl in the auction, just two beautiful unused sleeves. Upgrade your copy!
I've only seen a handful of uncut Dischord sleeves before, and none for GI, so bid hard or cry later!
In addition to the two sleeves, you'll be getting an 8x10 GI photo (a recent print), and photocopies of the following GI flyers:
- 1981/08/24 @ Columbia Station w/Assault and Battery, Beaver (2 different flyers)
- this show is where the photos on the Legless Bull insert were taken, and also where the 8x10 photo I'm selling was taken
- 1981/12/17 @ Clara Barton School (2 different flyers)
- this show was GI's first anniversary, as well as the debut of Tom Lyle on bass and Brian Baker on guitar.
- 1981/12/19 @ Market Five w/Deadline, Faith, Void
- Banned in DC says that Capitol Punishment played this gig, but they're not on the flyer
- 1982/02/05 @ CBGB's w/Bad Brains
- 1982/02/05 and 06 @ CBGB's w/Bad Brains and @ Sabotage Club w/Undead, Heart Attach
- 1982/02/28 @ 930 Club w/Misfits and Necros (3 different flyers)
- 1986/02/14 @ Dunn Loring Fire Dept w/MFD, Kids For Cash
- and an undated setlist, probably from 1983 or '84
And lastly, if you want, I can get John Stabb to sign some of this stuff for you, just let me know.
TRADING
Do any of you crazy collectors have the Limp Richerds' self-titled cassette for sale or trade? I'll pay through the nose (or offer generous credit/trades) for a copy! Or any other Limps stuff, for that matter...get in touch if you do!
GRADING
Grading is sleeve first, then the record(s), then the insert (if any). A lot of ebay sellers advertise their used records as "unplayed," which is almost always BS. I will only describe records as unplayed if I got them straight from band members or as dead stock from record stores/distros/labels/etc.
Grades are:
- Still Sealed - Record is still in shrink or loose wrap. I can only grade a sealed record's cover, not the disc itself.
- NM - Near Mint. The record appears brand new with little or no signs of wear, perhaps a few small scuffs from the paper sleeve, but nothing more serious than that. The record should have a beautiful luster. Sleeves show no appreciable wear. The corners may be bumped, but aren't smashed.
- EX - Excellent. The record looks beautiful, but shows signs of being played and handled carefully. There may be a small scuffs on the record, and some spindle trails on the labels, but the record will still have a nice shine to it. Sleeves show minor wear, but nothing noticable.
- VG - Very Good. The record has been used, but not abused. There will be some scuffing, and maybe a couple light scratches. The grooves are starting to lose their luster. Sleeves will show some wear and dirtiness and may have a small split.
- G - Good. The record has been used and abused. It's got scratches and scuffs galore, but will play through. Sleeves will show heavy wear and may have large splits. I do not accept returns or offer refunds on records graded G.
- P - Poor. The record has been thrashed. It will be covered in scratches and scuffs, and may not even play through. Sleeves will be pretty much destroyed: smashed corners, massive splits, writing, and heavy ringwear are to be expected. I do not accept returns or offer refunds on records graded P.
US WINNERS
Payment is via paypal or US Postal Money Order (I prefer paypal--it's much easier).
If you've only won one auction, feel free to check out immediately. The shipping calculator will give you the correct total. If you've won more than one auction, please wait for me to send you an invoice with the correct shipping amount.
Insurance is mandatory for all purchases $50 or over. I offer First Class and Priority Mail shipping only. I don't like Media Mail, since the longer something's in the hands of the post office, the greater the risk is that it will be damaged. The only charge I tack onto the shipping total is $.50 for a brand new Bags Unlimited record mailer.
If you live in the DC area, you can come and pick your winnings up to save on shipping. Just drop me a line and we can work something out.
INTERNATIONAL WINNERS
Payment is via paypal only.
Please do not check out for this auction until I send you an invoice. Insurance IS available for overseas buyers, and is mandatory for all purchases of $50 or over. Shipping will be via Global Priority Mail (view rate table b) or First Class International, depending on how much it weighs. If you want a shipping quote, feel free to drop me a line and I'll give you the exact cost.

I just got the 8x10 GI photo back, and I've posted a properly cropped scan of the photo now. The print is beautiful and would look great framed.
