description:
Fantastic album of early electronic works, one of the greatest in DG's venerable Avant Garde series. These beautiful and stunning experiments in organized electronic noise were realized under the creative direction of Koenig at the Instituut Voor Sonologie van de Rijksuniversiteit te Utrecht Studio Voor Elektronische Muziek in the Netherlands (which developed out of the Philips early electronic music studio where Henk Badings, Dick Raaijmakers, and Tom Dissevelt worked in the 1950s). The most significant tracks are by Koenig, who made early use of computers, writing his own software to calculate systems for his compositions which he called "automated production forms". Highly recommended.

artist info from album notes etc.:
Koenig was born in Germany and composed at the WDR Cologne early electronic music studios in the 50s and 60s alongside Karlheinz Stockhausen, Herbert Eimert, Henri Pousseur, Anestis Logothetis, Gyorgi Ligeti, Franco Evangelisti, Mauricio Kagel, Robert Beyer, and Herbert Brun; he was the creative director of the Institute for Sonology in Utrecht from 1964-1986, and as a computer programmer he pioneered music composition and synthesis software. Pongracz studied under Zoltan Kodaly and Koenig and is regarded as the first Hungarian electronic composer. Riehn studied under Koenig and later formed, with Heinz-Klaus Metzger, Ensemble Musica Negativa, which specialized in performing the works of radical composers like John Cage, Schnebel, Morton Feldman, and Earle Brown. This lp should be of interest to fans of Bernard Parmegiani, Pierre Schaeffer, Rune Lindblad, Francois Bayle, Luc Ferrari, Vladimir Ussachevsky, Jean-Claude Risset, James Tenney, Max Mathews, Lejaren Hiller, Tod Dockstader, and Ilhan Mimaroglu.

Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers which I have determined are the best and most protective, reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.

Payment I accept Paypal (which allows for fastest possible shipment). Please email with any payment questions. If you are paying by Paypal and have won multiple items, please use a single Paypal payment. I will send an eBay invoice to winners shortly after my auctions close, and an email after payment has been received to confirm item shipment.

Other Info Feel free to email me if you have any questions (need more info, want more pictures, etc.); you can use eBay's 'ask a question' function. Records are visually graded unless otherwise noted; my condition rating scale is M (sealed) / NM (unplayed) / EX (barely used) / VG (some evident wear from prior use but no major flaws) / G (major flaws) / F (very major flaws). All included album inserts are pictured in the listing; what you see is what you get, if I know an insert is missing I will mention it in the description.
