TWO SIGNED GOGI GRANT LP's: HER FIRST & HER FAVORITE PLUS HER LP & 45 SINGLE OF HER 1955 Smash Hit THE WAYWARD WIND:
Gogi Grant died this March at the age of 91. I met her at the Westwood Playhouse in Los angeles, CA in September 1987 when she decided to come out of retirement at age 61 ( see LA TIMES article photo) and sing again for her fans who remembered her from her 1950's hits: The Wayward Wind and Suddenly There's A Valley, among others. She signed both of the LP's featured here at that time. With the LP: Suddenly There's Gogi Grant - she signed with a note that says this was her first LP she ever recorded (see signature photo). With the LP: Welcome To My Heart - she signed with a note saying that this was her favorite LP (see signature photo). I recently located her hard to find LP & Single of her big breakout hit that made Gogi a household name: THE WAYWARD WIND.
1) Suddenly There’s…Gogi Grant (1956) - (ERA-EL 20001) – RED VINYL- Her First Album, SIGNED BY GOGI GRANT, while I was in her presence. Includes an article from LA Times/ Sept ’87 on Gogi coming out of retirement at age 62. CONDITION: Vinyl= Very Good Plus. Cover= Very Good Plus, Plus.
2) Welcome To My Heart (1958) – (RCA-LPM-1717) SIGNED BY GOGI GRANT while I was in her presence. CONDITION: Vinyl & Cover= Very Good Plus.
3) The Wayward Wind (1956) - ( ERA- EL106) 12" LP CONDITION: Vinyl & Cover = Very Good -. Vinyl has some scratches and cover a 6" break in the upper seam.
4) The Wayward Wind / No More Than Forever (1955) - 45 RPM 7" single. CONDITION: Vinyl= Very Good +.
