Description
Revelations – A Musical Anthology For Glastonbury Fayre – triple LP - was released in the UK in April 1972 on Revelation REV 1 / REV 2 / REV 3. This copy comes with ALL 6 labels with the red and white variant. I have identified this COMPLETE copy as having been intended for export as it has “p” 1972 on all the labels and there are no handsigned names on the lower right of the text side of the fold-out poster sleeve, the text instead commenting on the good causes to which it is intended to give any profits from the sales of the set. Matrix numbers are: (Side 1) REV 1 A2 (with a hand-etched) BOBIL, (Side 2) REV 1 D1, (Side 3) REV 1C, (Side 4) REV 1B, (Side 5) REV 1E, (Side 6) REV 1F.
This set comes COMPLETE with the oft-missing plastic bag and all 4 inserts uncut and at least in EX+ condition (more detailed description below).
The album comprises performances by acts who had appeared at the Glastonbury Festival in 1971. Although most of the performances are live, not all of the performances were actually recorded at the Festival. The track contributed by the Grateful Dead (titled "Dark Star....bury" for this compilation) is a version of Dark Star recorded at the Empire Pool, Wembley, London on April 8, 1972. during the band's Europe '72 tour.
Tracks:
Side 1
1. Dark Star…bury - Grateful Dead (Empire Pool Wembley, 8 April 1972)

The giant fold-out poster sleeve is in Excellent condition. It is completely intact with no split seams, just light edgewear to the folding edges only on the colour (pyramid) side, tiny dinks to the corners and a few gentle creases.
The 32 page, illustrated brown book is in Excellent (+) condition with one gentle crease on the rear and very gentle spinewear.
The fold-out Pyramid insert is completely intact and untouched – Excellent + condition.
The fold-out “Geodesic Dome” insert is in Near Mint condition
The fold-out poster tracklist insert is in Excellent + condition
The thick outer polybag is in Very Good (+) condition. All the text remains clearly legible, the bag is completely intact with no tears or rips apart from a small 1cm nick in the top seam. The bag is also somewhat grubby, most particularly along the top seam.
I have playgraded all 3 records in their entirety and have found no significant issues whatsoever.
Side 1 has a few light ticks and tiny crackle in the quieter bits.
Side 2 has a little light crackle and a few light ticks at the very beginning of the side.
Side 3 has a little light crackle in the quiet bits.
Side 4 sounded perfect.
Side 5 has 2 light clicks, otherwise perfect.
Side 6 sounded perfect.
Overall Excellent (+).
I am not a dealer but a serious collector. All my records come from my private collection. Please read my ME page for details of my philosophy on descriptions and gradings. I absolutely guarantee my gradings as played through my system. All my records are cleaned on a Moth Mk II RCM and play-graded in their entirety on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with RB300 tonearm and Denon DL-304 MC cartridge tracking at 1.5 g through an azur 840a amp via Chord Odyssey 4 bi-wired cable into KEF Q900 speakers. Inferior component-type turntables without proper tracking are more prone to sticking and jumping than high-grade turntables. If you love vinyl, do yourself a favour and invest in a decent system if you don't already own one. You don't have to pay thousands. Excellent quality 2nd hand turntables are available on eBay for around £100 (about the price of 1 rare LP). Your investment will be more than rewarded by the additional listening pleasure you derive.
BUT if, unexpectedly, you are unhappy for any reason, please get in touch.
Please see my other similar LPs for sale. Over the coming weeks and months I will be listing lots of classic prog, psych, folk and jazz LPs. Don't miss out - keep watching and bookmark me in your favourite sellers. Once they are gone, they are gone!!
Grading :
M = Mint - as new
NM = Near Mint - very few, light signs of usage that don’t affect play - the cover has only minor signs of wear.
EX = Excellent - some signs of usage, but very little lessening in sound quality – the cover might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG = Very Good - no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch - normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.
G = Good - the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches - the cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
+ and - are used as appropriate.
