Stamped with the following on Sides 1 and 2:
Side 1 (or A) - "BLP 5020 A" & 9M; and
Side 2 (or B) - BLP 5020 B" and 9M.
Record is VG+. Has a couple of noticeable scratches on Side 1 and a couple of very small scratches on Side 2; there is also a small crease (not a hairline crack!) which runs across Side 1 but does not affect play. Plays well with some background noise but all I have is a modern Crosley Record Player and could benefit from a better set up. Album cover may be VG+ too with a couple of issues with the top and bottom edges. Some slight yellowing on the backside album cover but this is the sort of thing that you want to see on an album that is supposed to be 68 years old.
10" vinyl record. Recorded for Blue Note during tenor saxophonist Gil Melle's modernist period, New Faces New Sounds is an 8-track set comprised of two sessions captured at the Rudy Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, NY in March 1952 with Eddie Bert (trombone), Joe Manning (vibraphone), George Wallington (piano), Red Mitchell (bass), Max Roach (drums) and Monica Dell (vocals) and January 1953 with Eddie Bert (trombone), George Wallington (piano), Tal Farlow (guitar), Clyde Lombardi (bass) and Joe Morello (drums). This is an original release from 1953 or thereabouts.
