GEORGE WALLINGTON TRIO Prestige prlp 158
Up for auction is an original 1953 Presitge 10" vinyl pressing of the self titled "George Wallington Trio". Features Wallington, Max Roach on drums and Curly Russell on bass. I don't say this much, but this is a tough one to find (in any condition). This copy is very much a player. Fantastic fidelity, with a bit of crackle that could probably be quieted with a quality mono cartridge and treatment.
DEAD WAX INFO: Side 1 has PR-LP-158-A and the Plastylite P (ear) and 7 E all etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has PR-LP-158-B and the Plastylite P (ear) and 7 E all etched into the dead wax. Original 1953 U.S. Prestige pressing. VINYL VISUAL: VG and MUCH better with very few light marks. Could probably use a thorough cleaning as well (I have cleaned it, just not for a bit). Cleaning should result in even better grading. Flat edge. Labels are great.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG and better as the EP has obviously been RARELY played. The Plastylite pressing retains EXCELLENT fidelity, but being near 70 years old, the music has a bit of crackle, but hardly overwhelming. The 2nd half of both sides seems to play even better. Cleaning, treatment and a good mono cartridge should result in much better grading.
COVER VISUAL: VG and better with some general wear (see pictures).
COMES WITH ORIGINAL 10" RICE PLASTIC INNER, WHICH IS IN AMAZING SHAPE (1 CREASE). THE EP WILL BE HOUSED IN A SEPARATE HEAVY AUDIOPHILE PLASTIC INNER.

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis.
