Description
George Wallington Quintet: At the Bohemia label. This is the rare original pressing on Progressive, with RVG etched in the dead wax.
The vinyl has been play graded at VG+. Visually, I probably would have only marked this as VG since there are numerous surface-level scuffs visible on the vinyl, but upon playing this the surface noise is extremely minimal, and definitely plays more like a VG+ or EX record. A really brilliant copy that sounds GREAT!
Unfortunately, though, the jacket is not in such good shape. It has suffered some severe water damage, particularly at the bottom of the jacket. As you can see in the photos the outer paper layer of the pasteover cover has peeled away quite a bit at the bottom on both the front and the back. Additionally, there is a clear high-gloss laminate that has also peeled away some. This is harder to capture in a photograph, but this is the reason for those slightly hazy marks to the top-right of George Wallington's name on the front; with a little bit of care this issue could certainly be cleaned up a great deal.
I imagine the flaws in the jacket will keep the price on this down, so don't miss the chance to grab this rare gem at a good price!
I try to grade conservatively, but if you have any specific questions please feel free to send me a message.
