Description
Electronic Sound is the second studio album by English rock musician George Harrison. Released in May 1969, it was the last of two LPs issued on the Beatles' short-lived Zapple record label, a subsidiary of Apple Records that specialised in the avant-garde. The album is an experimental work comprising two lengthy pieces performed on a Moog 3-series synthesizer. It was one of the first electronic music albums by a rock musician, made at a time when the Moog was usually played by dedicated exponents of the technology. Harrison subsequently introduced the Moog to the Beatles' sound, and the band featured synthesizer for the first time on their 1969 album Abbey Road.
The cover artwork of Electronic Sound was taken from a painting by Harrison. The front cover shows Krause operating the Moog console, while the back depicts Derek Taylor's office at Apple and the pressures afflicting the company at the time.
THIS COPY is a 1st Jacksonville pressing from 1969 (See Notes, below.) Note also that per the information provided, the song titles on the two sides are actually reversed - meaning the title on side one is the title of the piece on side two, and visa versa. (This was eventually corrected you'll be glad to hear, on the 1996 CD release. :-) The vinyl has some marks / light scratches, but per a test listen, none that affect playback. The vinyl is in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition. The original cover has some ring wear and some signs of general handling (e.g. edge wear). The original cover is in Very Good [VG] condition, lacking any major flaws. The original inner sleeve, with song info on one side and blank on the back, shows only very light "browning" due to age, and a short split in the middle of the bottom edge. The original inner sleeve is in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition.
