George Harrison 2 Box Set LP lot. They are:
1. All Things Must Pass. Apple Records(STCH-639). 1970. 3 Album Box Set.
The inside of the box is orange. The inside of the front part of box contains song listings and a list of contributing musicians.
The sleeves for discs 1 and 2 have printed lyrics. The disc 3 sleeve has the Apple Jam logo on one side, and has disc 3's song information on the reverse side. The sleeve for disc 1 is lilac; the sleeve for disc 2 is tawny; and the sleeve for disc 3 is mustard. A "Printed in U.S.A." stamp is in the lower right corner of the back side of all three sleeves, as well as in the lower right corner of the inside front box.
Conditions Rated: Covers 6 or VG+ black and white photo cover with gold titles on spine, all corners intact, discolorization on front, edge wear and corner bumps, includes 6 panel large poster, original inner sleeves///Records 8 or EX black and shiny with merest of sleeve rubs, original Apple labels, heavy vinyl.
2. The Concert For Bangladesh. Apple Records(SP-4236). 1969. 3 Album. Box Set.
The legendary 1971 benefit concert organized by George Harrison. Features performances from George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Ravi Shankar, Leon Russell, and Billy Preston.
Ravi Shankar planted the seed, but it was George Harrison who turned this historic benefit concert into reality. The publicity-shy former Beatle could've easily written a check and forgotten all about the matter--impoverished East Pakistani refugees stranded in India--but instead recruited some of his most talented and compassionate friends and created an event remembered as much for the quality of its music as the purity of its intent. (The two-part engagement itself raised $250,000.) The players include Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, and Bob Dylan, while the backing band includes Jim Keltner, Klaus Voormann, and the up-and-coming Apple band Badfinger (Phil Spector and Harrison produced). The concert took place on August 1, 1971 at Madison Square Garden and was released as a triple-album boxed set that December and a feature film in 1972. That year, it won the Grammy for best album. The program begins with Shankar and his trio ("Bangla Dhun") and ends with a song Harrison wrote for the occasion ("Bangla Desh"). Highlights include Billy Preston's rousing "That's the Way God Planned It" and Dylan's heartfelt five-song set, starting with "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall."
