Gentle Giant US Reissue Promo LP Acquiring the taste VG+ 74 Vertigo VEL1005 Prog
US Promo Reissue LP released in 1974 on the Vertigo Spaceship label. Cat: VEL1005. Comes in a gatefold sleeve.
Uncovered in the out back of N.S.W. this record is part of a recent collection stored and unplayed for the last 20 years. Collected during the 90's and mostly sourced from overseas kept in a cool dry cellar there are some tasty gems on offer and we look forward on listing them over the next few months.
The band's second album is a major advance on its first, featuring superior singing, playing, and songwriting, as well as a more unified sound, without sacrificing the element of surprise in the first record. Many of the melodies and even the riffs here (check out Gary Green's first guitar flourish on "Pantagruel's Nativity") have a pretty high haunt count, and all of the musicianship displays an elegance seldom heard even in progressive circles but the record also, amazingly enough, rocks really hard as well. Elements of hard rock and Gregorian chants mix freely and, amazingly enough, well throughout this album.

There are some light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and a few light scratches that cause some light crackles and is in VG+ condition. Gatefold cover has minor scuffing on corners and a few tiny surface tears around edges and is in EXcellent condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
