This is a UK original LP pressing. This is the very earliest UK pressing which has a Lyric Inner Sleeve. All subsequent UK pressings had a Lyric Insert. These are extremely rare!

 This LP has a heavyweight matt sleeve which is printed by "E.J. Day". It has the "Marketed by B&C Records, 37 Soho Square..." credit on the rear sleeve. As stated, it has a top-opening Lyric Inner Sleeve. This is printed on thick green card. Only the very 1st UK pressings came with a lyric inner sleeve. Nearly all early UK copies have the Lyric Insert. It also comes with an additional period company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press "Large Mad Hatter" Charisma labels. The labels have the "Marketed & Distributed by B&C Records Ltd..." text on them. The record has 1st press A-1U/ B-2U matrix stampers. "Porky RAY" and "Pecko" are etched in the dead wax on Side 1 and Side 2 respectively.

This is a genuine UK 1st pressing of this LP which has a lyric inner sleeve instead of a lyric insert. As mentioned, these are extremely rare. Don't miss out!


Sleeve: There is some light, mild or very mild foxing, or mottling, noticeable on the cream coloured areas of the sleeve. There are a very few small & light stains on the front sleeve (see photo). There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the top & bottom edges on some areas. The spine text is completely legible & shows no rubbing wear. There is light, mild or very mild ringwear. Overall, Very Good condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of more moderate sleeve rubs. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or very mild dull surface marks on some areas. These are mainly on the dead wax areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels are in Very Good++ condition & show mild or very mild spindle wear. There is some light, very mild or very minor foxing on some areas. This doesn't notice that much.

The Lyric Inner Sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on some areas. There is a small finger-tip sized stain on one side. This doesn't notice too much. There is some light, very mild or very minor rubbing wear to the corner tips.

The period plain paper company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or more moderate ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is only really noticeable in the quieter places. There are a couple of areas of more moderate crackle. This doesn't last too long. The crackle does not overpower the music in any place. There are no noticeable clicks or pops.

This LP would definitely benefit from a professional deep down groove clean. Any crackle, in the main, is just due to deep down dirt in the grooves. This LP would play at least Excellent, I believe, after a professional deep down groove clean.
