Description
I found this really nice early UK Decca copy of Genesis's first LP in the used bin at Poo-Bah Records in Pasadena, California, around 1980. It's essentially remained untouched in my collection since the day I bought it.
The cover is really in superb condition considering it's 45 years old. There are a few slight creases here and there on the front (see photos), but overall these are very minor blemishes. There is almost no noticeable cover wear or ring wear on the front or back - again, pretty remarkable for such an old laminated sleeve. The cover's only issue is that it appears someone with less than clean hands handled it once prior to my owning it. I've lightened a photo of the reverse side so you can see what I'm referring to. You have to view the sleeve at certain angles and light levels to really see these marks, though. They aren't noticeable under normal circumstances.
The heavy old Decca vinyl is in essentially mint condition and, except for one single 'pop' on Side 2 Track 1, it plays without any bothersome flaws. This record will definitely please the true audiophile.

A postscript about my music auctions. Almost all the records I'm now offering on eBay were collected by me personally in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and most have remained unplayed in the 30+ years since.
In my collecting days, I was really picky about condition. If I had a favorite album, I was always in search of a 'perfect copy' of that title, or at least as close to perfect as I could find. Obtaining original labels was also an obsession of mine. Most of my auctions will be for these desirable early edition albums that I acquired all those years ago, which have basically been kept in stasis ever since.
I have always taken the greatest care of my records. My collection has never been in storage and has always been kept in my (non-smoking) house under climate-controlled conditions, and has never been exposed to direct sunlight. The albums themselves have been conserved in archival plastic covers, and they have only ever been played on my own audiophile turntable. (I also have never 'cleaned' my records with any chemical surfactants or solvents, as was so common back in those days.)
I also take the greatest care in packaging these LPs for shipment. I will make certain that you receive your record in exactly the same condition as it is shown/described here.
I am quite confident that no one will be disappointed with a record they buy from me. I only sell the best possible, because that's all I ever collected in the first place.
