Genesis Foxtrot Original UK LP A1U B1U 1st Press Excellent
This is one of 5 completely original studio Genesis LP’s I am currently auctioning, spanning the Gabriel Era from Trespass to “The Lamb”. I am offering for sale only first pressings complete with every exact feature that which makes them truly original copies. Please take a look at these other auctions I currently have running on ebay!!
Genesis / Foxtrot. 1972. Charisma CAS 1058. Original UK pressing of perhaps their greatest LP. Textured sleeve manufactured by E J Day with red lettering on the spine. The labels have the large mad hatter logo and bear the original “Manufactured and Distributed by B&C Records” wording.
Matrix: Side 1 A-1U 1 A “Porky”. Side 2 B-1U 1 H “Pecko”.
Overall Condition: This is a really nice example of this LP. It is completely original with its red advertising inner. The overall grade is EX and importantly this is one of the earliest records produced in the production run with single stampers A and H representing the 3rd and 7th stampers on each side respectively in the GRAMOPHLTD sequence used at the Charisma pressing factory (EMI).
Outer Sleeve: EX. The outer sleeve is in nice condition. The red coloured lettering on the spine (see photos) is unfaded on this copy and nice and bold. It is difficult to find any particular faults with the sleeve copy, perhaps just a very minor amount of rubbing to on the bottom edge and slightly more on the top edge although still only in a couple of places. The top left corner is slightly rubbed but no damage of any real note, the sleeve is unmarked with no rips, stains tears or writing of any description. It really is a solid EX grade.
Red Advertising Inner: EX+ to Near Mint. This one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. Flat and with only minimal creasing, the seams are solid and have not been punctured by the record as happens with so many of these due to the fragile nature of the paper.
Record: Graded EX. I grade under strong halogen light which is always reveals more than any standard light. The record surface displays some very light marks across both sides but none of the marks are really more than superficial. I grade conservatively so please bid with confidence.
Labels: Graded NM. Clean and unmarked. A few faint spindle traces when held up to halogen light
Thanks for looking.
