Description
I purchased this album advertised in excellent condition and following my own appraisal I agree with this. I played the vinyl through the Grados and the sound was fantastic (no pops, ticks or clicks) and if I was grading on sound alone it would be near mint however both sides have a couple of faint rub marks (this is what I’m calling them, there is no grove at all to these things and if you hold the vinyl at certain angles the marks vanish. I am guessing it was something that happened at the factory because I can’t imagine a mofi sleeve causing this sort of rub. I just can’t tell what these things are). This having been said I numerically score the vinyl an 89, like a solid B+ in school. With regard to the cover I score this an 80 which I feel is the low end of the excellent spectrum; a B- but certainly better than a C+. I attempted to capture some of the rub wear/discoloration spots on the within cover (it’s much easier to see it in the brown banner than the cover itself but upon a close inspection it is there). There is some light wear within the corners with a more pronounced issue on the bottom left corner. Within the top and bottom seams of the gatefold there are a number small bumps (I guessing these were incurred with the record going on and off of shelves over the years) however all of the seams are without separation. Album is shipped within cardboard, the vinyl outside of the jacket, inside a Whiplash mailer. If you have any other questions please let me know and thanks for looking!
