Gene Vincent - A Gene Vincent Record Date LP

with Autographed Sleeve


1958 UK pressing. The sleeve is in fairly rough condition sadly, it's been taped round the edges as you will see. It's very much showing it's 64 years.


The vinyl has shocked me somewhat and plays well considering its age and the sleeve! Some crackling, clicking and popping and a bit of a jump in track 2 side 2 but considering the condition of the sleeve, it plays quite miraculously, the crackling etc being only really audible between tracks.


As you will also see Tony (whoever he was) was obviously fairly protective of his records and stuck some tape (that won't come off) with his name on it on side two and initialled side one TC on the outer edge of the centre ring.


The big point of interest with this record has to be Autograph though. As you will see it is clearly inscribed " Thanks Loads Gene Vincent " which I believe makes this really quite rare. I have only managed to find one other that sold through a company called Heritage Auctions in the US in 2006. Anyhow I'm sure this must make it quite desirable to any true fans. Of course, I have no way of providing any provenance for this as I haven't the foggiest idea who Tony was. If anyone knows please let me know? What I do know is it looks just like other verified signatures and Gene Vincent did tour to the UK from 1959 - 1971. 


I know this will sound an odd thing to say but I firmly believe it is genuine, it's just a feeling I have.
