1978 rare US 7" in picture sleeve. B-side: "When I Spoke Of Love"
A true DIY/cult artist single from circa-1978. Reportedly only 500 copies made, self-funded by Gary Wilson himself. No professional typesetting in evidence. Rubber-stamped ID on back of sleeve, looks like (Letraset) dry-transfer type lettering on the record label. Comes with additional 'promo' inserts.
I'm the original buyer of this single—back in the late 70s. Saw a small-space magazine ad for it (copy of it included), intrigued by the group photo, sent a check to an address and received it in the mail all those decades ago. It's been played maybe 5 times. Honestly wasn't a big hit with me, but so what. I just played it again, and both sides are near mint. Better pressing than Warner Bros. singles from the time period. This is my first attempt to sell it.
(Of course) the photos are of the actual copy for sale, and comes with all the additional extras shown. No tears to 7" sleeve, top edge (the open end) is not tattered and frayed, although the upper right corner has wear. The scanned image is for clarity of the sleeve art, the cell phone photo (image 5) uses different lighting and offers another view of its condition. It’s been stored in a plastic sleeve inside a covered box for the past 35 years. I'm a collector, so none of my records have ever been hauled around to record shows, and this one has never been in a retail store.
