Description
About This Record. This is an impossibly RARE! LP from my Vinyl Vault, a legendary MONO MONO original 1968 USA copy of The Doors third LP entitled "Waiting For the Sun" . . . VERY very very first USA Mono Pressing with -1A matrix numbers in the trail off area on BOTH Side 1 and Side 2, indicating the very first pressing. USA mono copies only came out on this color label variation; not on the tan or gold label, just this more "bronze" colored label, FYI. If someone has a mono copy on the tan label, or the gold label, please let me know! UK mono copies are pretty darn common; USA copies are rare as a Hen's tooth! Please see my other rare Mono records for sale.
Please see my detailed photos of the cover and LP and labels, as well as the details below and PLEASE CHECK my Feedback which shows you my grading, Cover/Vinyl, of other LPs I have recently sold and what the lucky people who are bought them think of them and our experience. The photos of the labels or cover list the songs and any possible details about the labels.
I offer full refund including shipping both ways (for USA and foreign buyers in case for some wildly strange reason you might be unhappy with this purchase. Comes hand-cleaned on my VPI 16.5 Record Cleaning machine (hate those automated 17's) and placed in a new dust-free sleeve for your grandchildren. And at least one plastic sleeves for moisture protection (for you and me).
Cover Condition: Good (G). Unipack Gatefold cover has large tear on front cover from 3 o'clock to 6 o'clock, and it was taped back together on both sides (see photos). On the inside of the gatefold, the lyrics do not line up quite correctly when the cover was taped back together. Otherwise, Top right and bottom left corners each have a big ding/crease. Top left corner has spine rub, some shelf wear. Please See all the Photos I took. I didn't take them for fun and frolic.
Vinyl Condition: STRONG Very Good (VG) Mono vinyl. Looks Very Good (VG), plays mainly Very Good Plus (VG+) with many EX moments, but has some noticeable Light marks and scuffs. NO sticks, or jumps, or major problems other than VG background noise in a few places; still a great play copy AND IMPOSSIBLE to find. I have only seen 3 copies in 40 years.
Labels. Near Mint (NM) labels. See Photo. Please see photos of all labels.
Inserts: Comes with original Elektra Records factory Orange/white paper inner sleeve, but no worries, the vinyl also comes in a new rice paper sleeve and hand-cleaned on my VPI record cleaning machine and in a new rice paper equivalent sleeve so the old Dust does not reattach! Oh My Gosh!
Packaging. I clean all vinyl on my V.P.I. Record Cleaning Machine and place it in a new innersleeve so the old dust does not reattach; but I also include the innersleeve that came with the LP if it is the original. I separate the vinyl in its new sleeve after cleaning from the cover, and place the cover and the separately packed vinyl in at least one if not two plastic innersleeves that help protect against moisture damage during this cool records transition to your record collection. I use sturdy carboard containers with real corners and pack with at least two insert stiffeners, and I place neon stickers on the front and back of the package indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help facilitate a safe passage.
Shipping and Payment. PayPal only. I ship promptly worldwide; sometimes the automatic eBay invoice does not have accurate shipping if you buy more than one LP, so if you are unsure email me and ask for an invoice. . . . I offer full refund on this record including shipping both ways, unless you live outside North America in which case I will refund you shipping one way unless I made a mistake which I sometimes do because I am only human.. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS: Please add sales tax!
