Guns N' Roses - Lot of 8 Original "Geffen" 7" Singles 

 

This is a great collection of 8 original UK, unless stated, "Geffen" Picture Sleeve 7" Singles. It includes one Shaped Picture Disc too. They span the years from 1988-1991. The condition & playback is generally very reasonable overall. This is a great way to acquire the majority of their original run of UK singles.


I have listed & graded them individually below:


1. Welcome To The Jungle/ Nightrain (Geffen GEF 47 UK 7" 1988)

UK original Picture Sleeve 7" pressing. The sleeve is printed on cardr & is top opening. The record has paper "Geffen" labels which have a solid centre. It has 1st press A-1/ B-1 matrix stampers.

Sleeve: There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light rubbing wear to one side. There is some light or very mild ringwear. There is some light or very mild creasing at the top opening - on the front sleeve only. There are no seam splits. VG+ condition 
Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The card sleeve has left some light or very mild marks on the vinyl. VG condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition and show very light spindle wear only. 
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays VG overall. There is some light, mild or more moderate crackle which is more noticeable in the quieter places.


2. Paradise City/ Used To Love Her (Geffen GEF 50 UK 7" 1988)

UK original Picture Sleeve 7" pressing. The sleeve is printed on paper & is top opening. The record has paper "Geffen" labels which have a solid centre. It has 1st press A-1/ B-1 matrix stampers.

Sleeve: There is some light or very mild ringwear. There is some light or very mild creasing near the top opening - on the rear sleeve only. There are no seam splits. VG++ condition 
Vinyl: There are some light or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. Very NEAR EX condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition and show very light spindle wear only. 
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall. There is some light or very mild crackle in some quieter places.

3. Paradise City/ Used To Love Her (Geffen GEF 50P UK 7" 1988)

UK original Shaped Picture Disc 7" pressing. It has a 10" PVC outer sleeve which is front stickered. The Picture Disc, as stated, is shaped. It has 1st press matrix numbers.

Outer PVC Sleeve: The previous owner has folded the PVC around the shap of the disc. There is a moderate crease vertically and in one corner. There are no seam splits. VG condition 
Vinyl: The PVC outer sleeve has left some light, mild or more moderate marks on the vinyl on some areas. This often happens over time. Otherwise, there are some light or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. VG condition.  
I have play tested this single in its entirety . It plays VG overall.  There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are some light or mild intemittent clicks on the A-side. I can't see anything to cause this, so it is probably a presseing error?


4. Sweet Child O' Mine (Edit/ remix)/ Out Ta Get Me (Geffen GEF 55 7" 1989)

Original Picture Sleeve 7" pressing. Manufactured in Germany for the UK market. The sleeve is printed on paper & is top opening. The record has paper "Geffen" labels which have a solid centre. It has 1st press A/ B matrix stampers.

Sleeve: There is some light or very mild ringwear. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the bottom edge. There is some light or very minor rubbing wear to one side. There are no seam splits. VG++ condition 
Vinyl: There are some light or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The paper sleeve has left some light or very mild marks on the vinyl on one side only. NEAR EX condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear. 
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Excellent overall. Some minor crackle in a few quieter places.


5. Patience/ Rocket Queen (Geffen GEF 56 UK 7" 1988)

UK original Picture Sleeve 7" pressing. The sleeve is printed on card & is top opening. The record has paper "Geffen" labels which have a solid centre. It has 1st press A-1/ B-1 matrix stampers.

Sleeve: There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a 1 cm area of mild rubbing wear at the centre of the bottom seam. There are no seam splits. EX condition 
Vinyl: There are some light or very minor sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The card sleeve has left some light or very minor marks on the vinyl on some areas. There are two very small 0.5 cm & 1 cm surface marks. VG++ condition. There is a small bit of sticker residue on one side. Otherwise, the labels show next to no spindle wear. 
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall. There is some light or very mild crackle in some quieter places.


6. Nightrain (LP Version)/ Reckless Life (LP Version) (Geffen GEF 60 UK 7" 1989)

UK original Picture Sleeve 7" pressing. The sleeve is printed on card & is top opening. The record has paper "Geffen" labels which have a solid centre. It has 1st press A/ B matrix stampers.

Sleeve: There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the bottom edge & one side. There is a minor crease at the top opening. There are no seam splits. NEAR EX condition 
Vinyl: There are some light or very minor sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There is a very light 4 cm hairline mark, & a very small 1 cm hairline mark on one side. VG++ condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition & show next to no spindle wear. 
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall. There is some light or very mild crackle in some quieter places.


7. Don't Cry (Original)/ Don't Cry (Alt. Lyrics) (Geffen GFS 9 UK 7" 1990)

UK original Picture Sleeve 7" pressing. The sleeve is printed on card & is top opening. The record has plastic silver inkjet labels which have a solid centre. It has 1st press machine stamped matrix numbers. 

Sleeve: There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to edges on some areas. There is some light or very mild ringwear. There is a small name on the rear sleeve. There are no seam splits. VG+ condition 
Vinyl: There are some light or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The card sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on the vinyl. VG condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition & show minimal wear. 

I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays VG+  overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are a few mild clicks on the B-side. 


8. Live & Let Die (LP Version)/ (Live Version) (Geffen GFS 17 UK 7" 1991)

UK original Picture Sleeve 7" pressing. The sleeve is printed on card & is top opening. The record has plastic silver inkjet labels which have a solid centre. It has 1st press machine stamped matrix numbers. 

Sleeve: There is some light or very minor rubbing wear to corner tips. There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the two side edges. There are no seam splits. Very NEAR EX condition 
Vinyl: There are some very minor sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The card sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on the vinyl. VG++ condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition & show minimal wear. 
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Excellent overall. There is some very minor crackle in a few quieter places. 



I shall place each vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original picture sleeves from any damage during transit.


Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for non UK bidders for this listing.

    >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.

EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.

NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

(You can add up to three 50g 7" singles at no extra postage cost. Insurance needs to be paid only once up to a value of £500)

LP album = £4.50 add another £1.00 (optional up to £20) for insurance. This is for standard registered items. All insurance must cover the value of the item. Therefore, for expensive items (£70+), Royal Mail "Special Delivery" will be used. This will be an extra £6.00.

Please note that these prices are as a general guideline only. For example: Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs. One parcel must not exceed 2kg (approximately 4-6 LPS).

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
