Another from my personal collection! Here is the original 1st UK pressing of 'Who Will Save The World' by The Mighty Groundhogs. Features the earliest -1U -1U Matrix endings! What makes this so desirable is that the vinyl is superb and has only ever been played by me a minimal amount of times and then to record to tape when I initially purchased this. I have recorded the record for you to hear the album for your self in the player below. Visually and audibly you will never find a better vinyl in my personal opinion. The audio is to die for cristal clear and very very vibrant throughout. Graded Near as mint in my opinion. The original 1st issue un laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold featureing the comic strip illustrations poster type cover is also in lovely condition, note there is some rubbing/scuffing and flattening at the spine only worth to mention.
A true Audio And Vinyl Archive Copy Never Need To Upgrade from this vinyl!

Groundhogs are a British rock band founded in late 1963, that toured extensively in the 1960s, achieved prominence in the early 1970s and continued sporadically into the 21st century.
The band was originally formed as The Dollar Bills in New Cross, London in 1962 by brothers Pete and John Cruickshank (born in 1943 and 1945 respectively in Calcutta, West Bengal, India). Tony McPhee (born 1944), the lead guitarist in an instrumental group called the Shcenuals, joined the group later that same year. McPhee steered them towards the blues and renamed them after a John Lee Hooker song, "Groundhog's Blues".
John Cruickshank suggested they became John Lee's Groundhogs when they backed John Lee Hooker on his 1964 UK tour: they later supplemented Little Walter, Jimmy Reed and Champion Jack Dupree when they toured the UK. McPhee featured on Dupree's From New Orleans to Chicago (1966) alongside Eric Clapton. The Groundhogs issued "Shake It" b/w "Rock Me" on the Interphon record label in January 1965.
Their line-up on their first album, Scratchin' the Surface, released in November 1968, consisted of McPhee as singer and guitarist; bassist Peter Cruickshank (born 2 July 1945, in Calcutta, Ken Pustelnik on drums (born 13 March 1946 on a farm near Blairgowry, Angus, Scotland) and Steve Rye on harmonica (born 8 March 1946 in London – died 19 July 1992, in London). In 1969, the single "B.D.D." (Blind Deaf Dumb) flopped in the UK but hit number one in Lebanon.
The group's album releases Thank Christ For The Bomb (May 1970); Split (March 1971); and Who Will Save the World? The Mighty Groundhogs (March 1972), recorded as a trio without Rye, all reached the Top 10 in the UK Albums Chart.
Split reached number 5, spending 27 weeks in the UK Albums Chart and achieved gold record status, while a single release from the album, "Cherry Red", was featured on BBC Television's Top of the Pops programme on 22 April 1971
Who Will Save the World? The Mighty Groundhogs is a 1972 blues-rock album recorded by The Groundhogs, originally released by United Artists Records in 1972
The sleeve artwork takes the form of a comic book featuring the Groundhogs depicted as superheroes, drawn by comic book artist Neal Adams.

The Vinyl
This is the original thicker /heavier type of vinyl only found like this on the earliest 1st pressings. The vinyl is free of any warping and lays perfectly flat on the turntable!
On inspection the vinyl looks barely ever played and I find it hard to even see a blemish at all on the playing surface. Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only. Certainly no audio sounding marks at all! Visually this vinyl is Very Near Mint in my opinion!
The Audio Quality!
I have played this vinyl at very loud volume on a top system prior to this listing and recorded the complete album for you to hear for your self in the player above! There is not much more that I can say other than the Audio is almost as good as it gets in my personal opinion. Cristal clear and very vibrant throughout! No distortion No loud constant Clicks or pops Near Mint as good as it gets!
Please Note: I always make this disclamer! Please allow for isolated static ticks/pop not constistant through out the audio. Please remmember that this is a 46 year old record that would have originally been played on a 46 year old system. A constant cleaning is recommended before each play. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant in a case causes static ticks/pops. A constant cleaning reduces this and will enhance the audio quality.
The Labels
These are the original 1st issue United Artist Labels! These look almost as new in my opinion. Just minimal spider traces on each side indicating that this has obviously barely been played in my opinion! There is no wear around the spindle hole it is perfectly round!
The Record Sleeve
This is the original United Artists paper patented sleeve! There are no splits or tears just light browning/staining with age only!
The Cover
This is the original 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse un laminated Gatefold cover! Features the cartoon strip illustrations and fold out poster type at the bottom from the inside of the gate fold. This is strong and straight with no nasty creases to mention on the front. The print is very clear clean and bright! There is just some rubbing to mention at the spine edge, with some of the text has rubbed of and very slight flattening at the spine but only really noticed if looked for in my opinion. Any creases are very minimal barely noticed on the inside. This cover is graded at least better than excellent in my opinion.
