Description
This is a rare copy of the Neil Young & Crazy Horse 3-record box set Greendale, an ambitious rock opera that investigates life in a small California town and explores themes of environmentalism, corruption, and the passage of time, among others. The album includes the 7-inch single Sun Green, pressed on translucent green vinyl and in near-mint condition. (Both sides of the sleeve are pictured.) The album also comes with a 28-page booklet with explanatory notes on the songs, a 12-page "show bill," and a "Where the devil is Greendale?" bumper sticker. (The bumper sticker and the cover of the show bill are also pictured.) The outer box is in excellent condition, with only a slight bit of shelf wear, and mostly on the bottom edge of the box lid. Each record comes in a unique cover (the fronts and backs of which are all pictured). Two of the covers are in beautiful near-mint condition, and the third would be also if not for a 3/4"-long beginning of a seam split in the top edge. As for the vinyl, five of the six sides are in near-mint condition. Side 2 of disc 2, however, has an unexplainable "tick" sound (unexplainable because it looks just as good as the other sides) at the beginning of the side that lasts for about the first 35 seconds of a 13-minute song. However, as we're talking about Neil Young & Crazy Horse here, the tick is not terribly intrusive. All in all this is still a pretty awesome item.
