Description
Up for auction is a beautiful original pressing of the self-titled debut album of The Grateful Dead, originally released in the U.S. on Warner Brothers (W 1689) in 1967:

Note: These original mono pressings have significantly superior sound quality to the common reprocessed stereo copies. If you want to hear this album has it was meant to be heard, you must hear it in MONO!
Condition: The cover looks great, still has its original shine, very colorful and attractive. No ring wear! No seam splits! White border and edges show a little aging here and there, and back looks clean, but shows some age discoloration to the edges here and there (see photos). Has a tiny nick/tear on left edge, but it's not serious. Very attractive and collectible original! Grade: Excellent (EX)
The vinyl looks great, still retains its original glossy shine. Side One looks very clean and shiny, but under a strong light a couple faint superficial hairlines show up, but they can't be felt, nor do they affect the sound quality at all.
Side Two looks clean and shiny with some very faint superficial signs of having been taken out of inner sleeve a couple times. Labels are clean, no marks around the spindle holes. Looks like this record has probably been played only once or twice previously but handled with care.
Play-Tested: I've play-tested this record, and when played in the recommended Mono Mode, the sound quality is Excellent, generally clean and clear. No significant pressing or surface noise, it has full-bodied fidelity. A superior sounding record, not audiophile perfect, but none of these original pressings were.

How I Pack Your Records:
I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing. I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection. I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
