Description
This is a fine original mono U.S. pressing copy of the debut LP by the Grass Roots, released in 1966. The group is best known for their epochal 1967 hit "Let's Live for Today," and their 1968 follow-up, "Midnight Confessions," which was also a top ten hit. On their debut, they play folk-rock and rock, featuring many compositions by the songwriting team of P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri, along with covers of songs by the Rolling Stones, the Lovin' Spoonful, Simon and Garfunkel, and (inevitably) Bob Dylan. The title track, one of the Sloan-Barri compositions, became a top 30 hit for the group. The jacket has creasing along the spine and seams on the front cover, and light ring wear and staining on the back cover (EX). The disc has some dings and scrapes in side 1, track 1, that cause some crackling, but is otherwise clean with some hairline scraping, and plays with some light surface noise -- overall EX(-).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
