Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $5.86 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. • IMPOSSIBLE RARE 1966 ORIGINAL
    • LOCAL LP GRUNGE-PUNK MAYHEM GLORY!!
    ..|/\|...............................................|/\|..
  • RASPUTIN and THE MONKS
  • "The SUN Of My SOUL"
  • ..|/\|...............................................|/\|..
  • USA - TRANS-RADIO (MONOPHONIC) TR-968

  1. 1966 SUPER-EXTINCT (original!!!) self promoted wild garage-rock album ...  virtually very few sixties rock fans had ever heard of.
  2. When talking local 60's garage teen-scene artifacts, this one comes to mind as a "must have" dirty-raunchy'66 GARAGE album ... Only issued on the micro-press "Trans Radio" label ...
  3. Seldom-seen 1966 originals hover around $1500.00 in value,and rising
  4. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Rasputin & The (MAD) MONKS were rowdy primitive/crude ROLLIN' STONES inspired toughs, up there with the Foul Dogs, Other Half (on 7/2 label) and few others that made the grade in similar fashion.

  5. These cats only recorded a half album,
    but whatta sound!!!

  6. The ONLY album by this crude rock New Hampshire garage crew, alternately known as
Rasputin & The (MAD) MONKS,...they certainly generated cool grungy '66 rave-up versions of: I Wanna Be Your Man, You'd Better Move On, Gotta Get Away, You Didn't Have To Be So Nice, 19th Nervous Breakdown, As Tears Go By and Roadrunner.

  7. Along with the legends of 60's 'prep-rock' ...this priceless 'Philips Academy' crude rock LP, is similar to sixties "Justice" label releases ~
RASPUTIN & THE MONKS the seldom seen original LP has an odd history.
  8. In 1966, their only recording took up one side of this very extinct LP,  the other side had unrelated music by an odd school prep band
  9. The LP flip-side, THE OCTECT, makes for a waaay-strange contrast; and not included on Rasputin/Monks scarce reissue.
  10. By the way:
Of the seven MONKS tracks - five were better known by the Rolling Stones in their parents-hating mid 60's era. Rasputin & The Monks energy gives these tracks a run in best versions, injecting  raw enthusiasm; primitive lo-fi grunge ultimately cool to the max!

  11. Rasputin And The Monks
  12. Mr. Lutkins - bass
    Mr. Freedman - Drums
    Mr. Harrison - Guitar
    Mr. Taylor - guitar
    Mr. Gardner - vocals

    Rasputin And The Monks

  13. I Wanna Be Your Man
    You Better Move On
    Gotta Get Away
You Didn't Have To Be So Nice
    19th Nervous Breakdown
    As Tears Go By
    Roadrunner
  14.   CONDITION:
  15. The cover: rated: near M-
primitive-solid/thick and clean 1966 original w/ matte material graphics ...about as strong as one can EVER hope for, local limited original 59 years ongoing. There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing  ...
  1. The vinyl: Rated: visually great VG++ and ALL plays  near M- the thick weighty platter has very few totally minor shallow finger-nail type small scuffs yet plays super-solid near M- reflecting exactly the sound of the '66 MONKS in their glory ... both Trans-Radio MONO labels are TOTALLY clean = LOOK!
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
