An original "RED Label" 1956 "WALT DISNEY takes you to DISNEYLAND" LP WDL-4004.(LPX3)
A UNIQUE and RARE – 1956 original LP, one of Disney’s very first LPs, featuring Walt Disney narrating "Walt Disney takes you to Disneyland." One of Walt Disney's very first LP, similar to , "A Day At Disneyland”, featuring Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, and finally Fantasyland. This album also include a 12" Gatefold Story Teller LP, A story with music. The original pressing of "Walt Disney takes you to Disneyland” was on a RED label, this is not the second release noted below.
This is the first record on the Disney label made entirely by Disneyland Records. It is also one of the only records that features Walt Disney. The contents of this record are the same as ST-3901, "A Day At Disneyland," but without the additional narration by Cliff Edwards as Jiminy Cricket. All tracks, except #4, are a bit longer than the Cliff Edwards' version. The record was reissued in 1959 as WDL-3042. Matrix Number: WDL-4004 FB-2904-D1 / WDL-4004 FB-2905-D1. Artist include Walt Disney narrating, The Disneyland Concert Orchestra, and Disney Cast members. Music by “ Wallace-Camarata” and several other several other Disney composers, writers, and the Disney orchestra.
CONDITION
Overall this example is in GOOD/VG condition. Colors are clear and bright on both the front and back graphics, shows shelve wear on back with moderate discoloration on interior panel which does not distract from the images. The spine shoes some delamination at the bottom and wear, and right side shows small ding, see images. Vinyl appears never to have been played to any excess, no scratches, rubs, or markings. One "flea bite" chip on outer edge but isn't in the recorded portion and doesn't effect the recording. The sleeve is not original to this item.
