Description
1973 UK Track 2406 112 LP. Original first issue with A1 and B1 stamper matrices on the vinyl run-offs.
The gatefold sleeve is the proper MacNeill Press Ltd issue made of at least a medium weight card with a non-laminated textured outer and matt inner. It's in particularly clean and fine nick with no rips, tears, writing and almost no fraying or creasing worth mentioning. The spine, corners and mouths are very nice thank you. Condition wise I give it a 9 /10 rating.
Included is the original photo / lyric sheet insert and the original poly-lined inner sleeve, both in fine fettle also.
As for the vinyl, it's shiny and of a light to medium weight with maybe a hint of dishing looking at it edge on. It's hardly worth mentioning but I have anyway for the sake of good order and completeness of description.
I really can't see evidence of it having seen a turntable. At the centre holes there is no sign of 'snail' spindle tracking on the matt black labels. Indeed, there is still a paper whisker residue in the hole left over from the manufacturing process so I believe the disc is still virgin. I could be wrong but that's my opinion! It's been in my collection for decades and its' history is lost in time.
Not to say though that the record is mint. Certainly the labels are super clean as shown but the disk has been living in its' sleeve for the past 46 years so it can't be pristine. No vinyl of this age can be. Yes, in room light it looks minty but under the unforgiving table lamp I see some paper scuffs due to storage and possibly handling use (ie reading the labels and checking the condition of the vinyl!) over the years. Nevertheless after all that I rate the disc 9 /10 also.
