GOIN’ UP THE COUNTRY
1968 UK DECCA TEST PRESSING
Thee field recordings were made within the space of a few weeks in 1966 and are among the most important that have were made in the 1960s. They were recorded by David Evans while he was collecting materials fro his Master’s thesis on the repertoire of Tommy Johnson and fill in many important steps in the development of the blues in Mississippi.
You get more than just a reissue of some rare recordings here, you get to hear some vital folks at the top of their game, years of experience in their voice, and the blues in their hearts.
This vintage blues LP is from the personal collection of blues researcher / writer Mack McCormick and is being sold to raise some needed funds for the Texas Musicians Museum. We appreciate any help in our mission to preserve music. IT IS A TEST PRESSING ADVANCE SENT TO HIM FROM DECCA UK.
