1968 New Zealand DECCA SKLM 4931

1966 recordings made in Louisiana & Mississippi by David Evans and produced for records by Mike Vernon & Neil Slaven.

This is brilliant spellbinding stuff that truly harks back to another era.

All acoustic music by artists with direct links to people like Charlie Patton, Skip James, Tommy Johnson etc.

Featured are: Roosevelt Holts, Isiah Chattman, Arzo Youngblood, Cornelius Bright, Herb Quinn, L.V. Conerly, Mager Johnson, Jack Owens & Boogie Bill Webb.

Hardly well known or household names but if these records had been made 30-40 earlier than they were and issued on scratchy old 78s they would be.

The sleeve shows age "yellowing" and the previous owner'sname is printed in very small letters on the back of the sleeve.

There are a couple of very minor surface marks on the record but they do not affect play.
