GLENDA COLLINS SOMETHING I’VE GOT TO TELL YOU / MY HEART DIDN’T LIE PYE 7N. 17044 1966 JOE MEEK / RGM


On offer is a GLENDA COLLINS 45rpm entitled SOMETHING I’VE GOT TO TELL YOU / MY HEART DIDN’T LIE as released on PYE 7N. 17044 in 1966. Both sides of this 45 are Meeksville Productions – under the supervision of the legendary independent producer Joe Meek. Joe Meek also wrote the B side – My heart didn’t lie.


The vinyl is in VG+ condition. The vinyl has a patina – on both sides – that gives a mottled effect to it. It’s hard to describe a patina [and impossible to photograph one] but to me it’s akin to having a surface you think you can wipe clean – but you can’t AND it’s not actually in need of an underlying clean either. 

The record labels are nice and clean: the initials - S H – are lightly written on the centre labels.

The record sounded great when I test played it on my BOSE record player.

The record comes housed in its’ original PYE label company sleeve.

EXCELLENT (EX) THE RECORD SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED, BUT THERE IS VERY LITTLE LESSENING IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND PACKAGING MIGHT HAVE SLIGHT WEAR AND/OR CREASING.

VERY GOOD (VG) THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES, BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY, DESPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AND THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER OR EXTRA ITEMS, WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS, IS ACCEPTABLE.


GOOD (G) THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE SOUND QUALITY HAS NOTICEABLY DETERIORATED, PERHAPS WITH SOME DISTORTION AND MILD SCRATCHES. THE COVER AND CONTENTS SUFFER FROM FOLDING, SCUFFING OF EDGES, SPINE SPLITS, DISCOLOURATION, ETC.
