Presenting a LOT of seven (7) VINTAGE VINYL LP’s by famed Italian tenor GIUSEPPE DI STEFANO.  In pre-loved, good condition.  The vinyl is amazingly good condition for being vintage! Some are DEMO/PROMOTIONAL records.  Here’s what you get:

1. MELODIE CELEBRI: A New Collection of Neapolitan Songs (LP).  A 1962 stereo LP by the renowned Italian tenor Giuseppe Di Stefano, released on Angel Records (catalog number 35837) in the United States.  Di Stefano performs a selection of popular Italian art songs and canzoni (many by Francesco Paolo Tosti and other late-Romantic composers), presented as a “new collection of Neapolitan songs.” Although not all tracks are strictly Neapolitan dialect songs, the program leans toward the light, lyrical Italian song repertoire for which Di Stefano was celebrated outside the opera house. Orchestra conducted by G. M. Guarino. Cover painting by Guido Pajetta; liner notes by L. Costa.

2. GIUSEPPE Di STEFANO SINGS NEAPOLITAN SONGS (LP).  A 1962 album by the celebrated Italian tenor Giuseppe Di Stefano (1921–2008), released on Angel Records.  Key detailsU.S. catalog number: Angel S 36102 (stereo).  Conductor: G. M. Guarino with orchestra.  Genre: Canzone Napoletana / Italian popular song.  This is a later collection of authentic Neapolitan dialect songs (distinct from the more art-song-oriented Melodie Celebri / A New Collection of Neapolitan Songs on Angel 35837 from the same period). Di Stefano was widely admired for his idiomatic, warm, and passionate delivery of this repertoire.

3. GIUSEPPE Di STEFANO: OPERATIC RECITAL (LP). *VINYL COLLECTORS - THIS IS THE BLACK LABEL LONDON RECORDS EDITION*  The American stereo vinyl edition of the classic 1959 Decca recital album.  Key details: Label / Catalog: London Records OS 25081 (stereo).  (This is the U.S. equivalent of the British Decca SXL 2111.).  Conductor: Franco Patané.  Orchestras: Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome) and Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.  Recording period: Late 1950s (issued 1959).  London Records was the American arm of British Decca at the time, so this pressing uses the same master tapes as the highly regarded Decca original.  This is one of Di Stefano’s finest studio recitals, captured while his famous “golden” lyric tenor was still in excellent condition. It showcases his natural warmth, elegant phrasing, and emotional intensity in a mix of Italian and French arias.

4. GIUSEPPE Di STEFANO: CANZONI ITALIANE (*DEMO EDITION* LP): Recital of Italian (and Sicilian) popular and folk songs.  Content: A mix of traditional Sicilian folk songs (arranged by Favara) and popular Italian canzoni. It is one of Di Stefano’s three major song recitals (alongside the Operatic Recital and the later Neapolitan Songs album).  This recording captures Di Stefano in his prime, applying the same warmth, elegance, and emotional intensity that made him famous in opera to the lighter repertoire of Italian popular song.  Labeled on side 1 of the record: “FDUONFS”.  Columbia Masterworks / 360 degree sound.

5. GIUSEPPE Di STEFANO: THE SOUL OF NAPLES - GREAT NEAPOLITAN SONGS (*DEMO EDITION* LP).  A 1965 album of Neapolitan songs (canzone napoletana) by the Italian tenor Giuseppe Di Stefano.  Epic Records (a CBS subsidiary).  Catalog number Stereo: BC 1297.  Conductor: Iller Pattacini.  Labeled on side 2 of the record: “FDUONFS”.

6. THE VOICE OF GIUSEPPE Di STEFANO SICILIAN FOLK SONGS LP.  Label: London Records.  Catalog number: SR 33221.  Series: Stereo Treasury Series.  Approximate release period: mid-1970s/1976.  A mixed program of Sicilian folk songs (arranged by Favara) and popular Italian songs, conducted by Dino Olivieri. Made in England.

7. GIUSEPPE Di STEFANO SINGS THE GREAT POPULAR ITALIAN SONGS *PROMOTIONAL COPY/FOR BROADCAST ONLY EDITION* LP.  Label: Philips Records.  1966.  Promotional Copy stamp on back cover. “FOR BROADCAST ONLY” printed on record label (both sides).
