Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! This album was originally purchased from new, pre-ordered in 1980! I never actually ever played this album. It has been stored in a case with the vinyls separated from the cover and sleeves for protection. Which is why this album is special! The condition is stunning for a 28 year old album! The vinyls look and sound like an unplayed vinyl! This features the fans only extra lp Very collectable and sought after like this especially in this condition! I have played this one time and recorded this through out all four sides, so that you can hear for yourself the superb audio quality! Actually mint as I heard it! Very vibrant and the best audio seperation. truly magnificent throughout!
This is complete with the original 1st issue embossed front only cover a record picture/lyric sleeves also in exceptional stunning top condition!

Gillan was a rock band formed in 1978 by Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan.
Gillan was one of the hard rock bands to make a significant impact and commercial success in the United Kingdom during the early 1980s, with 5 albums in the Top 20.
In July 1978 Ian Gillan had become dissatisfied with the jazz fusion style of his band Ian Gillan Band and dissolved it, retaining only keyboard player Colin Towns, and formed this new band entitled Gillan.
He added Steve Byrd on guitar, Liam Genockey on drums and John McCoy on bass, and initially pursued a progressive rock direction. Glory Road is the third album by the British rock band Gillan, released in October 1980. The album reached No. 3 in the UK album charts.
The US version of the album had a slightly different running order and included "Your Mother Was Right" instead of "Sleeping on the Job".
The original UK album came with a free album called For Gillan Fans Only. "Unchain Your Brain" has been re-recorded, and released on Ian Gillan's 2006 release Gillan's Inn.
A different version of "Trying to Get to You" can be heard on Gillan's album Cherkazoo and Other Stories..
Glory Road came as a limited edition double LP, and contained the free LP For Gillan Fans Only. When Glory Road was eventually released on CD, most of the For Gillan Fans Only material was included as bonus tracks. However, "Higher and Higher", "Egg Timer" (a spoof of Samson's "Vice Versa" from the Head On album) and "Harry Lime Theme" failed to make it to CD until the 2CD 2007 Edsel remaster, which contains both the album and the whole of 'For Gillan Fans Only'.
This latter release also has retrospective comments by Ian Gillan and the original artwork, plus pictures of various single picture-sleeves.. .

The Vinyls
These are the original thicker /heavier type of vinyls only found like this on the earliest pressings. The vinyls are free of any warping and lay perfectly flat on the turntable!
On inspection bothe the vinyls look un played in my opinion and I find it hard to even see a blemish at all on the playing surface. Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only. Certainly no audio sounding marks at all! Visually this vinyls are Near as Mint in my opinion! Note: Only played one time by me to record this for you to hear in the payer above.
The Audio Quality!
I have played both of the records at very loud volume on a top system prior to this listing and recorded the complete album for you to hear for your self in the player above! There is not much more that I can say other than the Audio is as good as it gets in my personal opinion. Cristal clear and very vibrant throughout! No distortion No loud constant Clicks or pops Near as Mint as good as it gets! You will not find a better sounding copy!
Please Note: I always make this disclamer! Please allow for isolated static ticks/pop not constistant through out the audio. Please remmember that this is a 28 year old record that would have originally been played on a 28 year old system. A constant cleaning is recommended before each play. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant in a case causes static ticks/pops. A constant cleaning reduces this and will enhance the audio quality.
The Labels
These are the original Virgin Labels! These look as new in my opinion. Look No spider traces around the spindle holes indicating that this has obviously never been played befor I recorded this for you to hear in my opinion! There is no wear around the spindle hole it is perfectly round!
The Record Sleeves
These are the original picture/lyric sleeves! There are no splits or tears ! catalogue numbers are featured on both sleeves. Note: There is some foxing/browning stains noted with age.
The Cover
This is the original 1st issue un laminated , embossed front only cover! The print is very clear clean and bright! There is just a place on the cover sticker a tare where an attempt of trying to remove it is worth to mention on the front, There are no creases woth to mention this is a beauty. Any edge rubbing is barely worth to mention and not noticed unless looked for in my opinin This cover is graded at least excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion.
