Album cover condition:

In good condition, especially for being 55 years old.

Light surface wear, minor scuffs. Very light ring wear, one very small seam split. Edges have scuffs and small creases.

No ink pen writing. This has minor corner dings.

The back cover has the original foil sticker from the NYC distributor, “European Pressing Code F”.

The inner sleeve is original, light ring wear and minor creases. Very minor foxing.

The record disc is in very good -plus condition. There are a few very light hairline scratches but mostly a pristine playing surface.

Plays well, clear sounding, no skips. The label is excellent ,

the center hole is very clean.

As well he’s a collector of Jobim, Getz and Gilberto side projects with a bossa nova theme, numerous compilations, remixes, contemporary sampling uses & mash-ups, as well film soundtracks that included samba & bossa nova, and extensive research of the film, video, print, radio recordings and other material related to this legendary recording, “Getz/Gilberto”.

Seller has a collection of over 300 bossa nova LPs, early Brazilian samba / jazz fusion, and is the

producer of the upcoming numbered-edition box set

titled “The Best of The Girl From Ipanema”.

(The song also known as Garota de Ipanema, La Chica de Ipanema, etc.)

The box set is slated to be released on vinyl and on CD only. Unless there’s a change in plans, this box set will not be available as a download, MP3 or any other formats. (Sorry, not available on cassette or 8-track tapes, though there’s been talk of releasing a reel-to-reel edition.)

A documentary film about the making-of the box set will be produced in association with Les Blank Films, CineStudio(São Paulo), and Som e Imagem, (Rio/São Paulo). It’s a tale of the adventures in collecting vintage vinyl records, and in defense of the song. As one music critic put it...

...from those covers that are wonderfully good to others which are painfully unbearable! It’s great to have heard some sample tracks of the instrumental and vocal versions.

The review version, rough-edit, test box set gifted my ears with some excellent listening. Oh, about those bad versions... worry not, they are so-bad-they’re-good!

It restores my faith in musicologists. The box set producer has liberated The Girl From Ipanema from the elevators and department stores’ Muzakian, mood-enhancing, retail hypnosis usage, and returned it to the people.
