GERMS Forming DARBY'S OWN Unplayed MINT 1st Press 45/FULL AUTHENTICATION Kbd
SEE OUR OTHER RARE RECORDS & MEMORABILIA
Here's a truly extraordinary punk rarity--an UNPLAYED and near mint copy of The Germs KBD classic FORMING/SEX BOY (The Germs Live) given by Germs frontman Darby Crash to Germs manager Nicole Panter. This is the earliest pressing, with the labels reversed--the black side actually plays Forming--and the erroneous "true mono" on the white label (it was actually recorded in stereo.) We obtained this directly from Panter, who's signed letter of authenticity states "This unplayed first pressing of The Germs single Forming is from my personal collection. Darby Crash gave this to me soon after the single's release in 1977, and I have had it in my possession ever since. I understand this has the first pressing single and a slightly later variation of the picture sleeve and insert, but this is exactly the way Darby gave it to me. I managed the Germs from 1977 to 1980. Sincerely, Nicole Panter."
The single is near mint/near mint-, with a tiny scuff on one side--but is unplanned. The sleeve (see below) is the second variant without the "$1" mention on the back; it's in excellent condition with some minor wear but is very clean as well. The lyric insert is mint with a horizontal crease down the middle. What Records owner and original Germs manager Chris Ashford (who we've known since we were kids in the 60's !) told us he almost immediately realized that the first pressing had the sides reversed, and threw most of the copies over a cliff--he estimates that approximately 100 were sold with original discs and sleeves. Chris told us he gave the band a box of the original singles without sleeves (as they came from the pressing plant) to throw out at shows, and this copy must have come from those. Chris guesses Darby came to him later for sleeves and inserts for the original copies he had left (Chris told us he printed the lyric inserts as needed, making minor changes each time; this is a slightly later version.) You won't find a nicer copy of this highly sought after rarity--and add to that the fact that this was owned by Darby Crash himself.

We welcome International buyers and ship around the world every week.
US & Canada Shipping: $9 for 1-2 LP's by insured Priority Mail (Ebay’s recent rule change requires us to offer Media Mail shipping for records, at $4.00 for 1 LP. As this is a very slow method of shipping and uninsured, we cannot guarantee safe delivery by this method and strongly recommend paying extra for the much quicker and safer Priority Mail.) $15 for 1-2 posters, shipped priority mail in a new mailer/tube & US orders are automatically insured for up to $200 in value. Calif. buyers add 8.75% sales tax (calculated automatically by Paypal.) All other items shipped at cost.
International Shipping: $16 for 1 LP airmail without insurance. $4 for each additional LP; $21 for 1-2 posters. All other items shipped at cost. Because of problems with the Italian Post Office, we highly recommend either insured or registered mail for all Italian orders and cannot be responsible for any order shipped to Italy without one or the other of these.
