Description

GEORGIE LEONARD - ONE MAN BAND - LP - CHEEP #CH-001 - 1971

Original and insanely rare private pressing LP from 1971 on Cheep Records.  Georgie Leonard was a hippie rocker from Massachusetts who had been gigging around the east under the name Georgie Porgie in the 1960's.  He cut this one LP in 1971 in limited pressings, which never came with a jacket (just a generic white jacket).  The songs are a mix of rootsy folk and blues rock with a druggy/stoner acid rock vibe with a bit of a tongue-in-cheek sarcasm in the lyrics.  This is the original pressing from 1971, NOT a reissue.  VERY rare and an excellent piece of goofy acid rock!!  "Clown Song" is a dark & warped bizarro circus style tune, definitely the highlight of the album.

Grading...

Vinyl: VG (several light scratches but nothing too deep, side 1 plays very good with only light areas of crackles with a few louder than average pops.  VG/VG+ playback grade for side 1 .... Side 2 has some louder surface crackles at the start during the first 2 songs but slowly disappears as the record continues...also on side 2 you can hear some louder pops in areas, but there's nothing to the point of being a distracting "click".  Side 2 playback grade: VG.   I've played this twice all the way through and there's no skips and no sticks.  Plays better than it's appearance and I was very happy with the sound overall... deep groove quality vinyl is to thank for this)
Labels: VG+/NM
Jacket: n/a (jacket is generic white, original to this release)

OUR VINYL GRADING SYSTEM: (record & cover are graded separately in each listing)

SEALED (NEW) ... Never opened, still sealed, presumed mint vinyl.

NM (NEAR MINT) ... The highest grading used for an opened record.  Practically mint, no major flaws if any flaws at all.

VG+/NM (VERY GOOD PLUS TO NEAR MINT) ... Better than VG+ but not quite NM.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) ... A great looking record with perhaps a few small imperfections such as a light scratch or two. Cover with a small crease or slight ring formation, nothing hideous, may have a name written on the cover in small print, spine is intact, no splits, no tears, etc.

VG/VG+ (VERY GOOD TO VERY GOOD PLUS) ... Better than VG but not quite VG+

VG (VERY GOOD) ... A record with obvious use but not abused.  Visible light scratches, no skips, plays fine with some soft surface noise (clicks and pops).  Cover may have a small split, a light visible ring, rounded corners or a few obvious creases, some writing on the cover.

VG-/VG (VERY GOOD MINUS TO VERY GOOD) ... Better than VG- but not quite VG.

VG- (VERY GOOD MINUS) ... A fairly abused record that still plays without skips, a lot of surface noise and several imperfections.  Cover will have several splits, light water damage, several creases, damaged corners, large areas of graffiti, or spine is peeling in areas.

G/VG- (GOOD TO VERY GOOD MINUS) ... Better than G but not quite VG-

G (GOOD) ... Pretty much a filler copy, scratched to hell, may have skips, lots of background noise, maybe a little warped.  Cover is damaged beyond belief. (We will not be selling records in this condition unless it is a VERY rare and sought-after record, or included in a large lot for a low price, so don't expect to see anything graded "GOOD" very often).

PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE BIDDING...

Hello and thanks for checking out our auction & store. We are Kohl Kurios, three brothers: Jayson, Scott and Matt Kohl.  We’ve been selling cool vintage stuff, obscure antiques, interesting collectibles and anything related to music for a year now. Please check out our ever-growing store!

We are passionate about our collectibles & stuff and hope to give you the best ebay experience possible. We aim to describe every detail of our items up for auction or for sale, and will grade them as accurately as possible, so you as the buyer have no unpleasant surprises when your item arrives. If there is ever a problem with your item, please message us here at ebay, we will always work with you to solve any problems.  Record buyers are encouraged to use the grading chart listed above.  Any serious or unique flaws on a record will be mentioned next to the official grading.

Since we will be so accurate with our grading, we will refund your purchase if there are any discrepancies from our grading. We just ask that you send the product back to us prior to your refund. We will not refund anything that is within our grading, however. Please read the description carefully before bidding.

PAYMENT IS EXPECTED WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER AUCTION ENDS. Please, if you're going to bid, be prepared to pay as soon as possible.

SHIPPING WITHIN THE USA IS FREE ON MEDIA AND FIRST CLASS SHIPPED ITEMS.

Methods of shipping we use for domestic buyers:

MEDIA ITEMS (records, books, cd’s, tapes, etc):  FIRST CLASS if 9 oz. or under, MEDIA MAIL if over 9 oz.  (LP records never weigh below 9 oz, so they always ship media mail)

ITEMS WEIGHING UNDER 13 oz will always ship FIRST CLASS (unless it's a media item, then we'll use the cheapest method).

ITEMS WEIGHING OVER 13 oz will usually ship PARCEL POST unless they fit nicely into a PRIORITY MAIL flat rate box… and if so, they will be shipped using PRIORITY MAIL.

We will use other methods of shipping by request if requested BEFORE you finalize your payment.  Please take note that we may charge you for the extra amount if you happen to request a more expensive shipping method.

All packages are shipped with USPS tracking.  If you’re wondering where your package is, there’s no need to contact us, just view your transaction page on eBay and you can track your package there.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE OFTEN PAY FOR BOXES AND PACKING SUPPLIES WHICH IS FIGURED INTO SHIPPING PRICES.

WE SHIP ORDERS ON TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS ONLY.  If you make your payment by 8pm EST on a Monday or Thursday evening, your package will be shipped the next day.

ALL INTERNATIONAL BUYERS SHOULD WAIT TO PAY UNTIL THEY RECEIVE AN INVOICE FROM US. THE SHIPPING COSTS LISTED ARE A GUESS AND ARE MOST LIKELY TOO HIGH. WE CAN SAVE YOU MONEY ON SHIPPING IF YOU WAIT TO PAY WITH OUR INVOICE. We appreciate that some international buyers may want to pay immediately, but we'd rather save you the money if you can wait a little bit.  We promise to send an invoice within 1 business day (but will most likely be within a few hours, depending on the time of day).  Example: an LP record only costs $12.00 to ship to Canada, but it costs $18.00 to ship to Australia.  So if you’re from Canada and you buy an LP, and don’t wait for our invoice you could be losing $6.00!!!

AS OF JANUARY 27, 2013: USPS HAS INCREASED THEIR PRICES DRAMATICALLY. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THESE NEW PRICES ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL.

We offer a splendid discount for multiple purchases for international buyers, but you must wait for our invoice in order to take advantage of these discounts.  Please contact us for more information, as it depends on the total weight of your package to consider issuing a discount.

WE DO NOT SHIP TO BRAZIL DUE TO THE COUNTRY'S POSTAL SERVICE'S HORRIBLE REPUTATION.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT INTERNATIONAL PACKAGES OVER 4 LBS MUST BE SHIPPED PRIORITY MAIL, WHICH CAN BE EXPENSIVE.

WE ACCEPT PAYPAL ONLY, PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

By bidding on or buying our items you accept and agree to these terms.
