George Harrison's excellent Wonderwall album was the first long player to be released in the uk on the Apple record label, in my opinion it is also one of the best on the label, the album is choc full of brilliant tunes, including excellent indian sitar and tablas, some brilliant fuzz guitar, a little bit of bizarre sounding jazz, some freaky mind-blowing psych and also a touch of strangeness, it just sounds amazing but may be an acquired taste to some.
At first glance the vinyl looks to be in stunning MINT- condition with a brilliant original jet black sheen, it really does have that just pressed look to it, on much closer inspection you will find just two very light surface marks on side two, although one mark is quite long these are very hard to spot at first as they almost go in the same direction as the record grooves, these two light marks do very little to effect play, they do not cause any clicks or pops at all but when the stylus passes over them you will hear a few very short low level hiss sounds, this noise is very light and is mostly behind the music but can be heard, this small amount of light surface noise is in no way loud enough to be off putting and apart from this and just three tics at the run-in to side one the rest of the album looks and plays plays like a dream and as close to new as you will ever find, there is no surface mark at the start of side one so the three medium tics are probably caused by some grime or dirt in the grooves and so may disappear with a professional deep clean. This rare album has actually been barely played at all since new so the sound quality is still truly amazing and crystal clear, this is great news as there are a few quiet passages on some tracks.
The fully laminated single sleeve looks to be in MINT- condition, when you study the sleeve very closely you will find just one minute impact dink to back lamination, this tiny indent really is very minor and very hard to spot and is very near invisible unless you tilt the lamination towards a certain light, this miniscule extremely minor lamination flaw is the covers only fault as it really does look near perfect, the lamination is still very glossy and reflective and simply looks superb, all edges are straight and true and free of any wear, the spine is also in brilliant condition with no wear at all and all words bright and very sharp and easy to read.
The plain white paper inner sleeve is in excellent clean condition.
The one page black & white album info insert is in excellent clean and flat condition with the absolute minimal amount of ageing/marking and looks very close to brand new and cannot really be faulted.
A excellent rare uk copy of a musically brilliant album that will not disappoint.
