Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
For auction here is a rare original UK stereo copy of the George Harrison LP called 'Electronic Sound' on the Apple (as Zapple) label, number Zapple 02, a record dating from 1969.
The laminated cover is in great condition for the age with the minorest of edgewear, there are two small labels (removable) to top left (see photo). The slightest of feathering to the opening edge. White unlined inner bag with track lisitng etc. is surprisingly very white with practically no age toning. Previous owner's monogram and the word 'stereo' written on it (see my photo).
The vinyl is bright and clean with no major cosmetic defects. The side 1 label has a scuffed area which looks as though it may have held a small label and it also has a stamp of a previous owner's monogram (see my photo) and the word 'stereo' written on. This said the small amount of minor spindle hole wear tells us this copy has not seen heavy play, and on the Linn it has a low level of noise, generally only that from static and dust, but no major audible nasties to spoil the enjoyment. It still sounds very sonically impressive as Harrison intended it to.
I'd rate this EX-/VG+, many would rate at EX.
It is offered at no reserve and a low opening bid price for such a collectable copy of a collectable album..
